Beauty Brand Favourites: Rimmel

For this whole week's worth of posts, I thought it was about time I resurrected an oldie, but goldie format - Beauty Brand Favourites! It does exactly what it says on the tine - I take a favourite beauty brand of mine and pick my five top picks! And as it's been so long since I did one and especially long since I featured certain brands - I thought for this whole week of posts, I'd dedicate each to a different brand and talk you all through my top favourites from them! And seeing as that'll be just three, awesome brands to start off with, who knows if I might scatter a few other Beauty Brand Favourites in afterwards? Let's get started - first up is Rimmel!

LASTING FINISH PRIMER - Starting with Face, I just had to mention this awesome primer! This is possibly one of my favourite face primers ever. I may buy and try various others, but I always find myself coming back to this one right here. This is almost like a moisturiser in texture - thick, creamy and feels kinda hydrating on the skin. Having normal-dry skin, I'm all about hydration so this one is really up my street! I find it kinda blurs and fills pores at the same time too and just makes for such a clean, fresh, even base for my makeup - I always love the finished result of my base when using this primer. And, possibly most importantly, this primer really helps keep my makeup in place all day/night long too!

LASTING FINISH CONCEALER - This concealer pot has been a firm staple of my makeup routine for years and years now. I know it's now been discontinued (boo!) but seeing as we're talking best of the best of Rimmel (in my opinion) - I still couldn't not mention it. As I said, this is a handy little pot concealer and whilst I definitely do not use it as 'regular' concealer (to cover bags, blemishes, redness and so on), I do really love it almost as a makeup 'eraser'! Taken on a small detailer brush, I used this to clean up my brows or eyeshadow or winged liner if I've done my makeup after my face makeup and can't simply take a face wipe to shape things up how I want them to be. It works like a dream - quick, easy and simple - and this one pot has lasted and lasted me years. Maybe I should look into something new after all...

1000 KISSES LIP LINERS - Lips-wise, I just had to give these a shout-out! The lip liners from Rimmel are definitely one of, if not my favourite from the drugstore/affordable market. They're creamy enough to apply with ease, yet waxy enough to give enough resistance for a clean and precise application and a finish that lasts all day (and keeps you lipstick well in place too)! They have a wide variety of shades, from nudes to brights and bolds and I definitely have a selection of favourites myself - 'Tiramisu' in particular is possibly my favourite nude lip liner ever.

STAY MATTE LIQUID LIPSTICKS - Also for the ol' Lips, these matte liquid lipsticks are just awesome! Again, a great selection of shades here - from nudes to reds, pinks to oranges and purples and even some slightly crazy colours thrown in for good measure too. The formula of these is also just great too - these are definitely one of my favourite liquid lip formulations I've tried. They're almost kind moussey in texture and so feel so lightweight and comfortable on the lips. They glide on easily, fully opaque in one coat and though have a slight slick to them, soon dry down to a powdery-matte finish (which we all know by now is what I like in my matte liquid lipsticks). They last well throughout the day without much need for touching-up (aside from the usual wear down in the very centre through eating and drinking - which is standard for most matte liquid lips) and I just love them. So, want a good matte liquid lip that's affordable? Check these out!

SUPER GEL NAIL POLISHES - Finally, last but certainly by no means least - I have to mention the Nails overall by Rimmel. Basically all of their ranges are great quality, with a great colour selection and of course, great low prices - but recently, I've fallen in love with their Super Gel's. I only own one so far, but I think I may have to pick up more. I think these were intended as a replacement for an old favourite range of theirs - the Salon Pro's - so I guess that may explain why I like the Super Gel's so much. They glide on with ease, only require the standard two coats to achieve full opacity and dry down (both in-between coats and overall) pretty quickly too. Also, they're so shiny and - as the name suggests - gel-like in finish too, even before layering on my go-to topcoat!
