Remember a couple of weeks back when I did a full week of new, updated 'Beauty Brand Favourites'? Well, today I thought I'd do another - this time as a one-off, as these types of post will generally be again from now on! As I always say, these posts do exactly what they say on the tin - I run through my five top favourites from one of my favourite beauty brands - and this time, we're focusing on Collection....
LASTING PERFECTION WEIGHTLESS FOUNDATION - This foundation is such a good one from the drugstore - and it's so, so affordable too! It gives such a nice, medium coverage to the skin that can be easily sheered out or built up as you like (though, I wouldn't say you could build it to a real full coverage) and it's got a really good, skin-like finish that's neither too matte, nor too dewy too! It blends in like a dream, sits pretty nicely and smoothly on the complexion and as the name implies, it really is so lightweight-feeling on the skin aswell. Plus, once set down, I always find this foundation to last almost-impeccably throughout the day or night...
PRIMED AND READY INVISIBLE SETTING POWDER - This pressed powder has fast become my holy grail. I did recently try - and eventually use up - my Revolution Bake and Blot, but honestly, I really don't think anything compares to how much I love this one from Collection. It sounds a bit strange, I know, but I just think there's something extra-special about this pressed powder right here. Not only is it fully translucent and colourless, it gives no extra coverage to the skin - just as the name implies! It really is totally invisible on the skin - simply mattifying and taking any any excess shine wherever you place it. It doesn't over-mattify or leave the skin feeling or looking dry or cakey in anyway (it still retains a skin-like glow, yanno?) and just like how it is totally invisible in how it looks, it also feels pretty invisible and lightweight on the skin too. Basically, this is my favourite pressed powder, ever!
SPEEDY HIGHLIGHTER IN 'PEARL SHEEN' - It's no secret that when it comes to highlighters, powder formulas are my typical, go-to. They're the ones I tend to use and gravitate towards the most - and also buy the most too! However, of all my cream highlighters in my collection (namely the ones in stick form), this one from Collection is probably my most used and loved of them all. It so quick and easy to apply (just as the name should hopefully suggest) and though it's a cream, it's one of the few that you can apply over the top of your foundation (even if it's powdered) and it never, ever disrupts your base underneath! It just glides over top with ease and looks so damn glowy too! The light, pinky-champagne tone works perfectly for my skin-tone and it gives a really nice, intense sheen, but without having any chunky glitter or shimmer in the formula - which is always what I look for in any good highlight. It just makes the skin look so radiant and healthy! Love, love, LOVE this one...
GLAM CRYSTALS GLITTER EYELINERS - I couldn't do a post like this for Collection without giving a well-deserved shout out to these awesome glitter liners. If you're after great, affordable, liquid glitters - check these out! We all know liquid glitter is my personal favourite when it comes to adding the sparkly stuff to my makeup and these are definitely some of the best. Are they comparable to the likes of the Stila Glitter and Glows? No, but they're not really meant to be. These are more like your 'traditional' glitter liners, with glitter flecks suspended in a clear, gel-like base as opposed to the likes of the Stila, which are more glitter 'shadows'. They're great for applying over eyeshadow for an extra glittery touch or even used as liners (or liner toppers) - as they claim to be best suited for. They never crack, crumble off or crease on the lids and once dried, they stay looking super-sparkly all day nor night long! What's not to love?
VELVET KISS LIP CREAMS - Finally, I really wanted to include something for the ol' Lips and these beauties were my first thought! Love the NYX Soft Matte Lip Creams? These are basically the exact same thing, just even cheaper! There's not as many shades, but the shades they so have are all gorgeous and the formula, like I said, I would argue is virtually identical. Like the NYX ones, these are technically a 'liquid lipstick' but not in the same sense as a lot of the others. These apply almost like a mousse on the lips, really creamy and kinda thick, but soon dry down. However, once they do, it's not that typical, super-matte finish that most liquid lipsticks have. These instead have more of a soft matte effect (I can see where NYX got the name from!) and so, whilst doesn't wear and last as long as the super-matte liquid lipsticks, does still hang around pretty well and doesn't compromise on comfort at all at the same time! They apply really opaque in one layer, last fairly well but still feel really lightweight and comfortable - it's a winner in my eyes...
