Beauty Brand Favourites: NYX

It's time to revisit another favourite beauty brand of mine and update my top picks from them - a.k.a. Beauty Brand Favourites! And this time, we have another go-to makeup brand for me, NYX...

BLUSH IN 'TAUPE' - The first firm favourite of mine from NYX as a whole just has to go to this 'blush'. And I say 'blush' as honestly, this is actually my go-to contour product. I remember years ago everyone started going on about how perfect this shade was for shaping and sculpting your face when you're on the paler side like myself and it really, really is! It's the most perfect, cool-toned, taupe-y brown (as the shade name suggests) and it just works like a dream for contouring. The formula is pigmented, but not too much so (the ideal sweet-spot for cheek products in my opinion) and it blends easily and smoothly in no time at all!

AWAY WE GLOW LIQUID HIGHLIGHTER IN 'CRYSTAL GLARE' - Honestly, I typically tend to reach for powder highlighters a lot more often than creams or liquids. I do like the latter, but it's powder glows that are generally what I gravitate towards the most. However, if there's one liquid highlighter I do find myself making a beeline towards more often than some others in my collection - it's this one right here. Not only is the light, champagne gold just spot-on for my paler skin-tone, the formula is a winner too. The doe foot makes application a breeze - simply swipe where you want the product, then blend with your finger or a brush - and unlike some cream/liquid highlighters, it doesn't disrupt or separate any base makeup I've applied underneath! You can apply a little, or build it up depending on how much glow you're after (as you may guess, I'm always after a lot) and also either leave it there as dries/sets into place or apply your favourite powder glow over the top for even more of a 'pop'!

EPIC INK LINER - Onto perhaps my favourite, favourite of all of my top picks from NYX - this awesome liquid liner! This is by far, my favourite, go-to, holy grail liquid eyeliner. The fine brush tip makes a sharp and precise application pretty foolproof, it's quite liquid-y so glides on smoothly but never, ever bleeds on me and once it's dry, it stays perfectly in place all day/night long - no cracking, no crumbling off and no transferring either! It's super intensely black and fully opaque in colour and dries fully matte - what more could you ask for?

SLIM LIP PENCILS - Finally - we come to Lips - and these lip liners just had to make the cut for my top picks from NYX. They do a tonne of different lip liners, but the Slim Lip Pencils are my personal fave. They're so cheap, come in a super wide range of shades that basically cover every and any shade you could ever need and have an awesome formula too. They're creamy enough to glide on easily, but hard and waxy enough to allow for complete control in application and really last on the lips too. Every colour I've tried is full in pigment and has the same great consistency and - what's even better - they're 'traditional' wooden pencils, so you can easily get a super-sharp point every time just by sharpening them!

LIQUID LIPSTICKS - Last, but certainly by no means least - the liquid lipsticks. And, yes, I may be considered as 'cheating' a little on this one as I'm not really mentioning just one products, but more a collective group. It was just too hard to narrow it down any further, I'm sorry! Especially between the Lip Lingeries and the Soft Matte Lip Creams. They're both different, but both firm favourites of mine! The former are more a 'traditional' liquid lipstick that dries down to a fully matte finish that really lasts all day/night long and takes a lot of effort to get off the lips; whilst the latter is more of a moussey texture that sets down to more of a - you guessed it - soft matte finish that whilst doesn't last as long, is slightly more on the comfortable and low maintenance side of things. It all depends on what you're after really! I personally like both for different things and that's exactly why I couldn't decide on which to feature in a post like this. Oops...
