Polish Pick: Revolution High Gloss Nail Polish in 'Satin'

As soon as Revolution finally announced they were expanding their brand even further and now releasing Nail Polishes - I knew I had to pick a few up to try out. How would the application, formula, finish and longevity compare to my favourite brands? And what would the colours be like? Well, here's the first of them...

The colour range is pretty damn good. So many shades - from your regular nudes, pinks, purples and reds to other, more 'colourful' colours like greens, oranges, yellows and even an entire separate neon collection too! But, to begin with I decided to play is a little more safe and just opt for three more 'classic' hues from their main range, the High Gloss Nail Polishes - a red, a nude and a pink. And the first I opted to give a go is the latter, called 'Satin'. A gorgeous mauve-pink with a soft, shimmery sheen. It's not super metallic as the likes of my Barry M Molten Metals are, it's just more of a subtle somethin' somethin' running through it, if you get what I mean! Not only did I fall in love with this stunning colour, I also thought this might help test the formula even more so, with it not being the 'traditional' proper creme formula. But. how did I get on?

Well, so far - so good! When it comes to nail polishes, I do tend to have my favourite brands and formulas but I do honestly think this new offering from Revolution could have a lot of potential. The colour had a pretty good coverage even with one coat, but I did find things fully evened out and became completely opaque in your standard two layers - plus, it dried down pretty quickly in-between coats too! It layered well, without caking up or going bubbly at all and perhaps best of all, it's got that super flexible slightly curved brush that I love in my nail polishes! And let me tell you, that brush most definitely helped for a fairly easy and precise application. It set on the nails with a really nice, glossy and shiny finish - even before I applied a top coat as a last step - too. All in all, I'm pretty impressed. And oh my, how lovely is that colour? Such a pretty, rosey-mauve and the shimmer is just so subtle, yet still makes all the difference. I guess now it just remains to be seen how well it lasts. I'll certainly keep you all updated as I use the rest of the colours I chose, plus when I do my full review of the formula as a whole later on!
