Typically, I use my beloved OGX Lavender Platinum Shampoo and Conditioner every time I wash my hair - part from three main occasions. Either whenever I want/need to purple shampoo it (in which case, the Lee Stafford Purple Shampoo is my go-to), am using a separate mask/treatment to deep condition my hair or if I want to use a completely non-toning shampoo and conditioner - perhaps after having my hair done, when it's usually a little more cool-toned than I personally like it. Don't get me wrong, I love love love how my hairdresser does my hair, but I think the purple shampoo she uses is so super strong and intense (I believe it may be the Fanola No Yellow), sometimes my hair cam come away looking a little very ashy and although I don't want my blonde to be yellow at all, I kinda like a mix between a cool-toned and warm-toned blonde - if you get what I mean. So, for those times, when I next need to wash my hair I really like to use just a 'normal' shampoo and conditioner which has no toning properties at all. And I was kinda in the market recently for a new one, so when I heard good things about this one from Primark - I headed there straightaway...
This is their PS Super Blends Coconut and Cactus Flower Strengthening Shampoo. I started seeing and hearing so many amazing things online about not only this shampoo in particular, but also the whole Primark Super Blends Haircare range in general - because they offer multiple different ranges/scents in matching Shampoos and Conditioners too - and it instantly piqued my interest. However, when I then saw that they're all retailing at only £1 each - for a whole, full sized bottle of shampoo or conditioner - I then decided for sure that I had to pick one up. And what better scent to go for than the one that caught my eye first - Coconut and Cactus Flower. This range also claims to be 'Strengthening', so sounded pretty great for my bleached blonde, heat-styled hair. I was so excited to crack it open and give it a go - and I really was not disappointed! First of all - this shampoo smells amazing! So sweet but not too sickly and super coconutty - it almost smells like Malibu, which is totally fine with me. It has an almost gel-like consistency but once applied onto damp hair it soon lathers up nicely into a super thick, rich foam. It rinsed out easily and I then followed up with my usual deep conditioner (as I was wanting to really treat and indulge my hair that day). When it came to rinsing that out, ready to dry my hair, I quickly noticed how yummy my hair smelt. Mmhmmmm! I also noticed how easily and quickly hair hair brushed out, ready to be blow-dried. It dried up easy-peasy and oh my, my hair looked, felt and smelt so good! It felt so smooth, soft and supple and looked so super-shiny too! Considering this is possibly the cheapest shampoo I've ever tried on my hair, I was pretty damn impressed. I think I may have finally found a staple 'single' shampoo for when I want to just wash and nourish my hair, without any additional toning...
