All Eye Want For Christmas... #DitsyDecember

It's the second part of my festive makeup series for this years' #DitsyDecember and today, we're talking all things Eyes. From awesome glitters to go-to palettes, liquid liner to big ol' false lashes - let's gets started...

P.LOUISE BASE IN '02 RUMOUR' - First of all, if we're wanting an awesome eye look this festive season - we're gonna want a good eye base to begin with. Cause, a good eye look is nothing without a good base to apply it all on top of! Personally, I flick between a good concealer to a 'traditional' eye primer/base but if we're talking the latter - you just cannot go wrong with the P.Louise Base. Simply take some on your fingertip and gently pat it over the entire lid space and you're good to go. Yes, you are meant to use it un-set but personally I find either way (left un-set or lightly set with a powder) - it works just as good. Just choose what you want to do and then go in with your shadow as normal and you'll find your mattes apply and blend awesomely and your shimmers apply super intense and foiled-like every. single. time!

TECHNIC THE GLITZ LIQUID GLITTER EYESHADOW IN 'GOLD' - Moving onto Glitter - and for this I'm gonna be sticking to Liquid Glitters. Over the years, they've definitely become my favourite, go-to format for when I want to rock glitter on my eyes as you get the same effect as with a loose glitter, but they're so much quicker and easier to apply and they tend to stay in place better too! This one from Technic I discovered earlier this year (after hearing MakeMeUpMissa rave about it for so long) and it's since become one of my new go-to's. Not only is the colour just gorgeous - a gorgeous warm, yellow-y gold that's very traditionally Christmassey indeed - the formula and effect it gives is just stunning. Just take some on a small, flat detailer brush and gently pat it lightly over the top of you eyeshadow (wherever you want it be be), leave it to dry for a few seconds and you'll be good to go. It's so damn pretty, eye-catching and reflective and just instantly upgrades your eye look. It doesn't crease, fade or flake off all day long either - which is always what you want too...

STILA MAGNIFICENT METALS GLITTER AND GLOW LIQUID EYESHADOW IN 'KITTEN KARMA' - Another liquid glitter that I actually bought last year - after wanting to try the range for so long and finally getting hold of one of them whilst they were heavily-discounted - and I have not looked back since. They really are as damn good as everyone makes them out to be. They really are like liquid glitter, just held together by a coloured base and because they are so high in coverage, unlike other alternatives which are more like 'toppers', these can instead be used as a standalone eyeshadow aswell as eye glitter. Which makes me love this even more as it's like the perfect all-in-one - just swipe it on, gently buff the edges to diffuse and blend it into whatever mattes I've got going on in the crease and outer corner and you're done. It lasts impeccably all day/night without creasing or crumbling off at all and the shade is the perfect light rose gold/champagne that not only works with virtually anything but is also just perfect for Christmas/New Year!

COLLECTION GLAM CRYSTALS GLITTER EYELINER IN 'FUNK' - If you want another option when it comes to liquid glitter - look no further than a good ol' glitter liquid eyeliner. These are actually what I used to use a couple of years ago before Stila popularized the whole 'liquid glitter' thing and as a result, made more brands come out with the same kind of thing. But, before all of that - these are the best thing since sliced bread, glitter wise. Not only are they super cheap and accessible and come in a whole host of shades (this true gold in particular being just perfect for the festive season), the formula is pretty damn flawless too. I personally really like to use this like I would a normal liquid eye glitter and so take some of this onto the back of my hand, pick some up on my fingertip and gently press it wherever I want it to go on my lid but you could also use it as intended - a glitter liner - or perhaps directly on top of your normal eyeliner to add a sparkly twist. Whatever way, it looks gorgeous and lasts impeccably throughout the day - what more could you ask for?

REVOLUTION X SOPH EXTRA SPICE PALETTE - Moving onto eyeshadow palettes - I just had to mention this one. Perhaps one of, if not my favourite drugstore/affordable offering of all time and I definitely think there's a few staple shades in there which make it a great option for festive-themed eye looks. This time of year, it'a all about champagnes and golds on the lid and warm browns in the crease and outer corner and this palette certainly has something to offer on those fronts. You've got the gorgeous yellow-y gold 'L.A. Sun' and almost lilac-toned champagne 'Everyday' which both make for great lid shades and when it comes to rich, brick-toned mattes - there's a whole host of options! As I always say, the quality of this palette is just amazing - the mattes are creamy, blendable and well pigmented; whilst the shimmers apply really intense and almost foiled-like on the lid. If you still haven't got your hands on the yet - do it now!

REVOLUTION RELOADED EYESHADOW PALETTE IN 'VELVET ROSE' - Another palette from Revolution that I'd highly recommend if you want to go for a 'traditional' festive eye look is this one from their awesome Reloaded range. These palettes are only £4 each, yet the quality is again so, so good! The mattes are once again rich in pigment and easy to blend and the shimmers apply so intense and shimmery on the lid. This colour scheme in particular to me just screams 'Christmas'. You've got a selection of light golds and champagnes, a whole host of transition shades and some gorgeous warm, rich browns and then this one's also got an interesting purple/burgundy twist to it - which is honestly another colour family that to me is perfect for this time of year too. So many options and every combination I've ever put together from this palette I've always been thoroughly pleased with!

LOTTIE LONDON X THUY LE 'LIVING MY BEST LIFE' PALETTE - The third and final palette in this line-up, this time is from Lottie London! I thought this'd be a good inclusion here as here you've got such a selection of gorgeous, quite neutral-based mattes (all of which are super pigmented and really easy to blend) and then there's a lot of the shimmers on the top row I feel are ideal for the festive season. Especially the first two shades - the white gold and rich bronze - but even the two more rosey shimmers would be great if you wanted to go down a more burgundy-toned route this Christmas and perhaps if you really want to go all-out - there's even a forest green shimmer in there too! All very festive inspired and again, great quality too...

NYX EPIC INK LINER - Onto Eyeliner - you can't go wrong with a classic black liquid liner to create a flick for the festive season and as always, my favourite and go-to is of course this one from NYX. Not only is it super rich and intensely black, it glides on easily to create a slick, smooth line and the brush tip makes getting a super precise, sharp application relatively fool-proof too. It goes on fully opaque and doesn't remove the product as you apply it (a usual common problem when it comes to liquid eyeliners) and quickly dries/sets down to a matte finish. It never, ever smudges, transfers, bleeds or flakes off throughout the day/night - it just stays looking as first applied until you take it off - and for that, I can't complain! After a good liner for the festive season? Look no further...

MAC EXTENDED PLAY MASCARA - A good mascara that does the job, whilst also staying put is another staple all year-round really, but perhaps especially so for the festive season. Cause whether you're simply lacquering on the mascara and calling it a day there or applying some big ass false lashes too afterwards - you don't want your mascara coming off or moving around. And especially for the lower lashes, I will never use any other mascara than this one from MAC. This not only makes my lower lashes super black, it also beefs them up and adds a nice amount of thickness, whilst still separating them out nicely at the same time. But, most importantly, once it's on there - it. does. not. move. It doesn't smudge, transfer, crumble away - nothing. And having had many issues with various mascaras on the lower lashes before - that's a pretty big deal - and as a result, means it just had to get a place in this post!

SO SU LASHES IN 'DUBAI' - Last, but certainly by no means least - Lashes! A staple for me all 12 months of the year again - but even more so throughout December. I have so, so many favourite brands, ranges and styles but perhaps my favourite this past year has been this one that I actually discovered around this time, last year. MakeMeUpMissa introduced me onto these (again!) and I haven't looked back since. They're only £5, you can pick them up in Primark and they're such great quality and look so stunning on the eyes too. They're super full and fluffy and almost faux mink-like, they're really long and dramatic and are slightly longer towards the outer corners - great for giving a gorgeous winged out effect to the eyes. Basically, they look like lashes which are double the price (or maybe even more)...
