Early last year, Tanya Burr first launched her very own cosmetics range - consisting of lipglosses and nail polishes. After massive success with the initial drop, between then and now more shades were added to the original line-up and she also released an equally-popular line of false lashes. She's certainty been a busy bee. But unbeknown to us all, over the past few months Tanya's been working on a complete brand revamp, along with some more welcome additions to the Tanya Burr Cosmetics family. It was only early last month that all was revealed and it's safe to say that I was excited - as was millions of her fanbase. I quickly made a mental note of some things I was eager to pick up and try and so a few days ago I made that Feel Unique order...
Like I said before, the original collection was eventually made up of a range of lipglosses, nail polishes and false lashes. Tanya said how she wanted to both repackaged everything, along with streamlining her shades and styles a little to include a mix of the old favourites plus a couple of new additions. From the 'old' line, of lipglosses, nail polishes and lashes there are now 11, 12 and 4 respectively along with a few completely new releases which I think I'm most het-up about. Branching out from the original lashes in the 'Eyes' category, there are now 3 eyeshadow palettes as well as a brow kit and everything is very gorgeous-looking indeed.
I decided I wanted to get one of everything to give it all a fair test - (besides the brow palette, which while I think looks lovely, I already have my own routine when it comes to my brows and I'm not sure I'm ready to change it up just yet). From Tanya's old line I already own two of her lipglosses in 'Chic' and 'Picnic in the Park' - which I like, but I do find the formulation to be a little too thick and creamy for my personal taste - and a couple of packs of her Individual Lashes which I love, love, LOVE (as you would have already read about here). I gather the lashes are identical to the old line and thought so for the lipglosses too until a few comments from others (and apparently in one of Jim's vlogs) that they have in fact been reformulated to be more balmy in texture, which certainly sounds far more up my street so I'm glad I picked one of the new shades up!
Onto the First Impressions/Tried and Tested part and starting with what has to be the product I was most eager to snap up as soon as I saw Tanya's blog post announcing this relaunch. I was by far most attracted to the 'Hollywood' Eye Palette out of the three in total in the range (as are most people, if I go by the general reaction). In theory, this looks like a perfect collection of shades for me. Inside you get four shadows, so the palette is pretty compact and thus perfect for travelling or fitting in your makeup bag. 'Hollywood' features a selection of colours - all within the 'Bronze/Gold/Brown' spectrum and all very gorgeous, but also very wearable. There's 'Nude Delight' - a lovely pale matte cream shade, ideal all-over or as a highlight, 'Gold Coin' - a pretty pale gold shade similar for a shade such a MAC Patina, 'Enchantment' - a stunning straight-up bronzey glitter (almost like a pressed pigment), and 'Bookworm' - a warm-toned brown akin to the kind of shade you get in a bronzer compact, ideal for defining your crease and outer corner. I tried this yesterday (as I did all of the other items I bought) and in short - I love it. It was one of those items that I really wanted to like and I'm super glad this is the case. I used 'Nude Delight' in the inner corner as highlight/base shade, 'Gold Coin' all over the lid and both 'Enchantment' and 'Bookworm' in the outer corner and crease. All of the shades are super-pigmented and come out just like they appear in the pan. They blend individually and together beautifully and the look I created stayed put as I applied it all day. I really could not recommend this enough.
Next for the 'Eyes' category comes lashes and I picked up the 'Date Night' False Lashes - which were kept on from the original collection. As I said, previously I'd only used the Individual ones (which I really get along with as a means of building your own customised look), but I'd never before tried full strip lashes. Yes, really. I'm a lash newbie, yanno. Anyway, I'd heard many good things about these ones in particular ever since they were first released and again I really like them. I decided to plump for 'Date Night' out of all the others (I knew I wanted to try a pack other than the Individuals as I know I already love those) as to me, they look just like a few of the Individual lashes stuck together onto a strip - so I figured that they'd surely give a similar effect and not be too difficult to apply and use. And for the most part, I was not wrong. Of course, with these being my first pack of full lashes I'd ever applied combined with the whole notion that lashes are typically darn hard to apply anyway - there were a few teething problems - but in the end I got there and I love the look of them on. They are pretty full-on - especially towards the outer corner where things get real winged-out - but they just look so pretty, fluttery and girly and just add such a nice oomph to an ordinary set of mascara-ed up lashes. The glue that came with the pack worked fine for me (plus I love how the bottle is now a different shape so you can stand it up whilst you're using it) and they came off easy-peasy with the rest of my eye makeup at the end of the day. Winner.
Moving onto lips, and out of the new lipgloss line-up I chose a new shade I'd ever tried before in the old collection but had always eyed-up - the 'I Found Nemo' Lipgloss. First things first - what a darn cute name right there. I have to say most of the names Tanya's chosen are super-lovely, but that has to be one of my personal favourites. Like I said, I already own 'Chic' and 'Picnic in the Park' in the original range and whilst I do like them, to me they are perhaps a little too thick in texture for my personal tastes. Hearing that not only had they been repackaged into a gorgeous new gold-based casing, but also reformulated to be far less creamy and more balm-like gave me high hopes though that maybe this time the glosses would float my boat that little bit more. After trying this shade out I'd say that it does feel that little less sticky than the too others I already own, perhaps not as thin as I'd personally like - however as I said, it's all a personal preference - but I kinda forgive that purely for the shade itself. Oh. My. Compared to 'Chic', which is more of a Kylie Jenner-type pinky brown, and 'Picnic in the Park', which is more of a straight-up candy pink - this shade is more of a warm-toned pinky coral and I love it. For lipglosses, the pigmentation remains one of the best I've ever come across and you can always tell a difference between each of the shades (something that often becomes an issue in products of this type). The scent has also changed from a sweet Strawberry fragrance to more of a Watermelon one that's far fresher and less sickly (even though the Strawberry scent does smell good enough to actually eat) and I perhaps think the Watermelon is more of a 'people-pleaser' too. Again, I'm super-impressed!
Finally (I promise), we have a nail polish. Now, I'm gonna hold my hands up here and admit that whilst nail lacquers are by no means a new addition to the Tanya Burr range (They've been out in some shape or form for nearing a year and a half now) - I'm yet to sample any of them. I know, I know *hang head in shame*. This has now luckily changed though, as I also picked up the 'Pic 'N' Mix' Nail Polish (which I believe is a completely new shade to the range). This reminds me a lot of her 'Mini Marshmallows' one (which I also believe is still part of the line-up) in that it's a very pretty pastel-y pink akin to sweeties and all that kinda goodness. As for the packaging, I love the revamp - again with gold detailing on the calligraphy and casing - and I also discovered from watching a couple of 'First Impression's videos (*ahem* Meg from MegSays in particular) that this gold lid can in fact be took off to reveal a standard black cap which the actual brush is connected to - meaning you can choose as to whether you want to use the gold lid for application or not, which I think is a really nice touch on the function front.
So all in all, despite perhaps a few minor issues - I'm still not the biggest fan of the lipgloss formulation but can see how others are/would be and do still love them for their colour payoff, effect and scent - I guess the new and updated range for Tanya Burr Cosmetics gets the big thumbs up from me! Having been an avid watcher of Tanya for quite some time (and also coming from the same area of the UK as she does), it feels fairly surreal holding her products in my hands and I feel strangely proud of her even though I don't properly know her (I met her once at one of her 'Love Tanya' book signings). It's lovely to see someone turn their passion into such a big success story and in this case, want to try and better themselves and continue improving what they do. I love the new launch and I'm pretty sure that if you're as big a makeup fan as me or even just a big fan of Tanya herself - you will love it too.

Loved her individuals too. Buy never got round to trying the nail varnishes or lipglosses. I didn't realise she'd released an eyeshadow either! The palette looks great - perfect basic shades. Might give it a try x

I'd definitely recommend the eyeshadow palette - lovely selection of shades and really good pigmentation and blendability too! Xx
