Summer Nail Polish Picks

Summer is here (despite the sometimes less than Summer-y weather) and so, I am all about those classic, seasonally-appropriate with my nail polish picks too. Of course, you can wear whatever colours and tones you want at any time of year (I do too) but personally, when it comes to Summer - these are my own 'Top 10' that I always find myself reaching for...

MAYBELLINE COLOR SHOW NAIL POLISH IN 'PINK BOOM' - First up, one of the most recent additions to my nail polish collection. A bright, candy pink that's super Barbie-esque - I love it. A really girly, pretty pop of colour that's very reminiscent of the types of shades I used to wear all the darn time on my nails back in the day. SEE IT IN ACTION HERE.

BARRY M SPEEDY QUICK DRY NAIL PAINT IN 'IN A HEARTBEAT' - Then, if you're into your pinks, but like them with bit of a coral twist - this one is perfect for you. This is slightly paler and more pastel-like but has this gorgeous peachy, salmon undertone to it. I personally love wearing coral colours (of all types and tones) in the Summer, they're super-duper pretty and really easy to wear too and this one just ticks all of the right boxes...

MAYBELLINE COLOR SHOW NAIL PAINT IN 'CORAL CRAZE' - But, if you want to go properly coral, coral - try this one from Maybelline out. This is slightly deeper (but still not too deep - it is Summer, afterall) and is more of a classic coral colour so if you're into rocking those true oranges on your nails - head this way... L'OREAL COLOUR RICHE A L'HUILE NAIL POLISH IN 'CHERIE MACARON' - Moving into the rosey, pinky shades of the bunch - and first up is this one from L'Oreal. And as this follows from the corals and oranges, I guess it's no surprise that this one does still have that similar warm undertone it too. This is very much a pink, but it's got a touch of orange in it aswell and in some lights, I find it to even pull a little red too. It's a unusual one but it's super-pretty too and is one of those colours that really flatters and just makes your hands look healthy - yanno? SEE IT IN ACTION HERE.

BARRY M COCONUT INFUSION NAIL PAINT IN 'FLIP FLOP' - This is yet again another nail colour that's a fairly new addition to my stash and with the Summer in full swing, I have been getting my full use out of it - and loving it too. This is a super bright, almost neon-esque orange that you could definitely imagine to glow in the dark (if that kinda situ arose). I personally love bold, 'in yer face' kinda colours in the Summer and this fits that bill perfectly so I am all about it right now. SEE IT IN ACTION HERE.

BARRY M GELLY HI-SHINE NAIL PAINT IN 'PRICKLY PEAR' - Purple-wise, this pretty lavender is always one of my favourites when it comes to this time of year. I say 'always' as I've actually had this kickin' round in my stash for a good few years now (it was one of the original 'Gellys' back when the range was first launched - remember that?) and every single Summer since, it's managed to make at least one appearance on my nails at some point.

BARRY M SPEEDY QUICK DRY NAIL PAINT IN 'NEED FOR SPEED' - If I fancy something with a little more purple-y pigment to it, I'll reach for this one right here. This is a lovely, middle-of-the-road type purple hue that's neither too light, nor too dark and once on the nails, has this gorgeous bright-ness to it that really perks things up nicely. It's very eye-catching and pretty and I can't wait to get more use out of it in the coming weeks...

RIMMEL 60 SECONDS SUPER SHINE BY RITA ORA NAIL POLISH IN 'ROLL IN THE GRASS' - Green doesn't tend to be a regular occurrence on my nail beds when it comes to colour families - but one which is a bit of exception to the rule is this beauty from Rimmel. This green in particular verges on turquoise (my usual way of rocking a green) and once on the nails, is not at all scary as you'd think it would be. It's fun and a great option if you fancy experimenting and going for something a little different... SEE IT IN ACTION HERE.

BARRY M GELLY HI-SHINE NAIL PAINT IN 'KIWI' - Again, this green-toned hue has been in my collection for a while now and it never fails me. A beautiful, jade green, I also find this to be unique in not only my personal stash - but also the whole nail polish 'scene' in general too. Most greens I come across in stores almost verge on the unwearable for me personally, but I find to be one of the few that I can kinda pull off fairly easily and I loves it a lot. BARRY M COCONUT INFUSION NAIL PAINT IN 'LAGUNA' - Last, but certainly by no means least - a true blue. Blue is another colour that I don't often do on my nails - typically unless it's Summertime - and this one in particular has become my favourite, favourite. A bright, sky blue that is sure to grab attention; this entered my life around this time last year and became a firm favourite ever since. I particularly love the whole 'Coconut Infusion' formulation and especially in the Summer, when you're always in need of that extra hydration, it's a welcome addition for the sometimes-neglected nail area - that's fo' sho.
