Summer Pamperin' #AllMonthAugust

Pampering, to me, is an essential all-year round. Sometimes, there's simply nothing better than a lovely pamper-sesh where you can just lock yourself away in the bathroom for an hour or two, emerging only when preened to perfection and no doubt smelling darn delicious too. Obviously for many, baths are the obvious choice for such an occasion - and for Autumn/Winter-time I'd certainly agree (Lush bath bombs - hello?), but during Summer they just seem to loose their appeal. Personally, I'm much more of a shower-type gal over the warmer months so of course, my pamper routine has to be adapted accordingly. There's a few add-ins I like to include over this time too, as well as some that I like to perhaps skip over a little more. Wanna know the deets? Keep on reading...

SHOWER GELS - The obvious one. If I'm having more shower-time over the Summer, of course I'm gonna need an accompanying gel to go alongside them. For me, I like to go for ones that kinda do the best-of-both-world's thang and both cleanse and nourish at the same time. While I love feeling clean (doesn't everyone), I hate the striped feeling that can sometimes occur as a result of things getting a little too cleansing. So shower gels that are a little creamier  in texture are the ones I personally plump for. Some of my faves? The Original Source Raspberry and Vanilla Shower Gel both works wonders and smells absolutely divine, and the Zoella Foam Sweet Foam Shower Gel is also lovely and very 'gel'-like in texture, so lathers up very well indeed.

FOOT CREAM - A particular area that I like to especially concentrate on around the warmer months is foot care. With all the  wearing of numerous flip flops, sandals and general foot-flashing going on - I like to attempt to keep my feet in tip-top shape (or at least as tip-top as they can look). For ages I was using ordinary body lotions/butters and finding they never really did the trick - until I found the Soap and Glory Heel Genius Foot Cream. Oh. My. Word. If you struggle with cracks, flakiness and general 'ugh'-ness on your feet (TMI?) - try this. Trust me, it really does work.

BODY BUTTERS - With all the Sun-bathing (the safe kind of course!) and general increased exposure to the Sun - I find moisturising my skin at this time of year uber essential. Obviously, After Sun is my first port of call immediately after any time spent in the Sun, but between all of those occasions - I like to really enrich my skin with hydration, especially in the evenings. Again, Soap and Glory do some fab items especially catered towards this area (I especially love their Sugar Crush and Breakfast Scrub Body Butters), and I also really enjoy using good 'ole Palmers Cocoa Butter - you cannot go wrong with this stuff.

BRIGHT MANI (AND PEDI!) - Moving onto the nails side of things, I personally (as you may have guessed by my recent Polish Pick posts) like to plump for colours veering on the brighter, bolder and more vibrant end of the spectrum during the Summer. As I said earlier, I like to play extra TLC to my feet in this time period, so this includes a mani and pedi! Whenever I do my nails especially as part of a pamper sesh this always involves me taking more time out to include every single step to give me an overall more professional and long-lasting finish. Clean, cut, shape, buff, paint, tidy-up - Done.

HAIR MASKS/OILS/TREATMENTS - A final area I like to ensure gets its fair amount of attention paid to it is hair masks/oils/treatments/whatever you want to call them. As I mentioned before, I find my skin during this time of year can get quite parched, and the same often goes for my hair. In fact, often my poor strands gets the rougher end of it all - with the heat always threatening to wreck havoc on my already-dry-and-damaged locks. I always have these types of things stashed away, as I frequently  make use of them regardless of taw weather - but especially around the Summer-time I like to really put them into action. These include my deep conditioner (I've used and loved the Aussie 3 Minute Miracle Reconstructor for yonks), leave-in conditioners (Also from good 'ole Aussie - their Miracle Hair Insurance Leave-In Conditioner is a good'un), and oils/sprays (My current one at the top of the pecking order is, no surprise - the OGX Coconut Water Weightless Hydration Oil). I tell ya - my hair is sure thanking me for it.
