Oh yes - it's that time again. Over the past few weeks or so, I've been noticing more and more new launches appearing both in-store and online and so obviously, it was only a matter of time before I gathered together my favourites and shared them with you lovely lot. It's September (already!) and so I'm deeming this the 'Autumn Edition' and while I wouldn't say there's that many releases which lend themselves to that topic, they're all equally heart-eyed emoji worthy so I guess that's what really matters, eh? Here goes...
Kicking things off with Maybelline - the brand with by far the most launches recently. There always seems to be one which goes a little crazy and releases tonnes of new things all at once and I guess this time it's the turn of Maybelline. First up, the 'Rock Nudes' Palette (£9.99). This claims to be 'edited for edge with heavy metal to quietly quartz, with 12 curated shades to rock infinite looks. The perfect palette for raw, smokey, cool-toned neutrals with a shot of dangerous black'. If you've been a reader of this blog for some time, I'm pretty sure you'll know of my love for Maybelline's The Nudes Eyeshadow Palettes. I love the original, I love the 'Blushed' version and I'm hoping this compilation will be just as much love at first sight. This time, as the name suggests, it features more smokey, night-time appropriate shades with a few hints of colour in there too. While some hues are more 'out there', others remain very wearable indeed so I will give this a go and report back - of course. Next, also from the 'Eyes' department are a couple of new shades of the Color Tattoo 24Hr Cream Gel Eyeshadows (£4.99 each). Much like everyone else, I love these little cream shadow pots. They've been around for what feels like the longest of times and as I said, seem to be a firm favourite amongst pretty much anyone and everyone who samples them and I am most certainly not an exception. They claim to 'create 24hr wear shadow for an intense, long-lasting colour saturation with a cream formula which glides on without creasing and keeps colour vibrant'. I definitely agree with all of that and so when I spotted that two new colours were being added to the line-up, I just knew I had to add them to my collection. They are 'Breathless' - a light, shimmery champagne - and 'Fantasy' - a cool-toned bronze shimmer. I don't think Maybelline have expanded on the range for ages to this was certainly an exciting launch. Lastly, a new product for the ol' lips and these are the Color Drama Intense Lip Paints (£4.99 each). These claim to 'go beyond gloss with a shot of intense colour'. These intrigued me as they look totally different to anything I've seen in the drugstore before and I am can't exactly make out what they're exactly supposed to be - and that kinda makes me want to try them more. I'm assuming they're a liquid lipstick-type formula, but whether they have a matte finish or not remains to be seen. I picked up the shade '610/Stripped Down', what with me being all over the brown, nude shades right now, and I am very much looking forward to testing it out. Finally from Maybelline are two new nail polish collections. I love nail polish and I especially rather enjoy the offerings from Maybelline and recently they've released both the Color Show Preppy Woman and the Superstay 7 Days Metallic Silk ranges. These are both collections of new colours that have been added to the existing ranges (as Maybelline often do) and I decided on a shade from each to treat myself to and show to you lovely lot. From the 'Preppy Woman' collection, I plumped for 'Tweedy' - a pink-toned silver glitter - and from the 'Metallic Silk' I went for 'Rose Veil' - a gorgeous rose gold (swoon).
Moving onto L'Oréal - and couple of very exciting face-finishing launches. I am all kinds of obsessed with all forms of highlighter at the moment and so when I got wind of L'Oréal finally jumping on that bandwagon, I was ready and prepared to drop some dollar. They have come out with not only one, but two formulations - powder and liquid - and with a couple of shades of each, there's bound to be something for everyone. First up are the True Match Powder Highlights (£7.99 each) and these claim to be a 'collection of four iridescent powder highlights which blend effortlessly together for an all over illumination or to highlight key areas'. They has a split-pan design, with four different shades inside and I really love how in theory, you can combine them together or use them individually depending on your colouring or preference. I also picked up one of the True Match Liquid Highlights (£6.99 each) and these claim to give 'a lit from within glow to enhance key features or illuminate all over. As with all liquid highlighters, this one's really versatile in that you can use it as a base for your makeup or mixed in with your foundation for all all-over glow or simply use it as a normal highlighter in your usual places for a more targeted touch of radiance. I cannot wait to get my glow on and report back.
Now I want to talk about a couple of brands of which I've only picked up one new item from. Starting with Rimmel and their new Fresher Skin Foundation (£7.99). It's been a long while since Rimmel have launched a new base, but what with my much-loved Lasting Finish Nude having been discontinued a few months ago (boo!), I guess it was only a matter of time before a new one took its place. This claims to 'offer lightweight, breathable coverage for an even, natural-looking, fresh finish that stays shine-free all day. With an ultra-smooth texture which is easy to apply and blends perfectly, for a barely there feel that does not clog pores and lets skin breathe'. It certainly promises a heck of a lot - but when it came to deciphering it all, it sounds a lot like the kind of foundations I tend to opt for and generally get along with. I like a foundation which is fairly light on the skin and doesn't look or feel at all heavy in any way, so fingers crossed it delivers on that front. I also wanted to pick up a certain item from Bourjois. I've been hearing a lot of good things about the Volume Reveal Mascara (£9.99) and with my current one fast getting to the end of its life, I went for it. This claims to 'reveal your lash potential with a built-in mirror with x3 zoom, whilst the lash-catcher brush with gripping bristles ensures all lashes are volumised without exception'. I've seen a tonne of good results from people who have used this and I cannot wait to see just how well it transforms my own natural flutter.
Collection have also launched a couple of new powders only a week or so ago now and I really liked the look of them, so figured I'd pick them up. I am always up for trying new powders (and finding something that's just as good, if not better than the Rimmel Stay Matte) and while I really like the MUA one I'm currently using, these two really interested me. They are the Primed and Ready Powders (£3.99 each) and there's two - the Invisible Setting Powder and the Illuminating Setting Powder. The former claims to be 'a finely-milled pressed powder, enriched with skin-clearing Witch Hazel that sets your makeup into place while helping to keep breakouts at bay', while the latter claims to be a 'silk-enriched, finely milled pressed powder which feels weightless on the skin and adds a subtle luminous glow'. As I said, I love testing out new face powders and I have to admit, I am so excited to try the illuminating one. I've always loved the look/sound of the Hourglass Ambient Lighting Powders and how they supposedly set your makeup without deadening your complexion and while of course I don't expect this offering from Collection to be an exact replication - the concept does sound rather similar.
Last, but certainly by no means last are Barry M. Once again a very squeal-worthy launch as they have only gone and released some makeup setting sprays! I love a good setting spray, and whilst only last month I declared the Urban Decay All Nighter as my ultimate favourite - that certainly doesn't means I'm not open to trying out any more - especially if they come in at a fraction of the price. These are the Flawless Mist and Fix Makeup Setting Sprays (£4.99 each) and they claim to 'make you feel fresher and ensure your makeup lasts longer with active ingredients to protect your skin from dirt and pollution'. They come in both a 'Matte' Finish (which claims to reduce skin impurities) and a 'Dewy' Finish - which is the one I opted for, and which claims to hydrate and condition your skin. I like my skin to have a more glowy finish (if you couldn't tell already) and I also love to inject it with hydration at any time possible, so this sounds like a winner to me. Completely the trio, I also picked up their new Flawless Hydro Fix Primer Water (£4.99) and this one I am really excited about. I cannot recall any priming waters to have hit the drugstore at any point and can only really think of the much more expensive offering from Smashbox when it comes to it so this one really interests me. This claims to 'make your makeup last longer and your face feel fresh and hydrated. The perfect way to prepare and prime your skin for polished, prolonged wear of your makeup'. I really like the idea of simply spritzing your face in order to 'prime' it for applying your makeup, whilst also adding an extra shot of nourishment and refreshing yourself at the same time and once again - very much looking forward to cracking this one open. I guess now I've done this post, it won't be long...

There are so many good things in the drugstore at the moment!
