It's a cliche, but Autumn really is the season of all things 'Burgundy', right? Whether it be clothing, nails, or makeup - much like everyone else, as soon as Autumn hits, I am all over those deep red, wine tones. As always, one way I love to experiment with colour is through my makeup so today I'm sharing my current favourite burgundy eyeshadow combination with you lovely lot...
If you've read round these parts before, you'll probably have seen me mention this little beauty in the past - usually as soon as Autumn/Winter comes - and is is of course the awesome Maybelline EyeStudio Color Tattoo 24HR Cream Gel Eyeshadow in 'Metallic Pomegranate'. A stunning, deep burgundy cream eyeshadow with fine gold shimmer - it is such a gorgeous colour to wear on the lids. It's the kind of shade you can most definitely get away with wearing alone all-over and smoked out on the lower lashline, possibly paired with a winged liner and some lashes or even just a slick of mascara alone. It is a great 'one-wash-wonder' as I like to deem them - great for days when you don't have time or simply can't be bothered (#Relatable) - and while I do love using it that way, I also equally love pairing it with something very similar in tone to kind of 'set' it into place and intensify the colour and shimmery finish even more so recently, I've been combining it with the L'Oreal Paris Color Riche Mono Eyeshadow in '301 Escape In Bordeaux'. It's basically the same sort of thing - but in powder shadow format - and much like 'Metallic Pomegranate', while it is awesome alone, it is even more so when layered over the top of a slightly tacky, cream base like the Maybelline Color Tattoo. It's got that same deep, rich, red wine-esque colouring and even has gold shimmer embedded within it once again - it's basically so comparable that it's near-identical. Used in conjunction with one another, you get a very pretty, tonal finish that's really easy to create - yet super intense and effective at the same time. Want to go all-out Autumn on your lids, but without having to put in a tonne of effort? Look no further...
