December: The Love List #DitsyDecember

It's the end of the month and actually, the end of the entire year too. Madness. However, with that aside, it's time to run down all of the beauty-related items I've been loving throughout the past month! I know sometimes people leave out December in their monthly favourite line-up and instead focus solely on the Yearly Faves, but I never like to miss any month out and honestly, I discovered so many good products this month that it'd be rude not to give them a well-deserved shout out. So, without any further ado - let's get right on into everything I've been loving in December...

DOLL BEAUTY DOLL LIGHT HIGHLIGHTER IN 'LIKE A DIAMOND' - I love a new, bangin' highlighter and this one that I discovered in December is certainly one of those. I'd heard so many amazing things about the glow-givers from this brand and though I'd never heard, nor tried anything from them before, I gave it a go - and I'm super-pleased I did. This is so, so intense and blinding, with even the smallest amount of product and yet it's not chunky or glittery in anyway. It just looks super glossy and almost 'wet' on the skin and the light champagne gold is just perfect for my paler skin-tone too!

STILA GLITTER AND GLOW LIQUID EYESHADOW IN 'KITTEN KARMA' - I have wanted to try these liquid glitter shadows from Stila for years and have always been put off by the more expensive price-tag. However, not too long ago Beauty Bay had a ma-hoo-sive sale on and these were quite considerably reduced. So, I decided it was time to take the plunge and give one a go to see what all the fuss is about. And, I'm pretty pleased I did. This is quite literally like a gorgeous, liquefied glitter. Simply swipe some on from the applicator onto your lids, lightly pat out the edges to diffuse any harsh lines, leave to set for a minute or so and you're good to go. It's completely fuss and mess free, doesn't drop down throughout the day and never fades or creases either! This rich, golden champagne is such a pretty, versatile colour too.

PRIMARK LIQUID GLITTER EYESHADOWS - I actually picked these beauties up last month, but only got round to trying them out in December - and so far, I'm rather impressed. If the Stila ones are out of your budget, these are a decent replacement. I wouldn't necessarily deem them a 'dupe' as they're not as amazing, but they're pretty damn good considering they're only a tiny fraction of the price. Still very glittery and last on the eyes just as well, they're just not as opaque and so would need to be layered over something else, rather than used alone like Stila's can be. I'd definitely say you should give them a go!

PRIMARK SKINNY BROW PENCILS IN 'TAN' AND 'LIGHT BROWN' - Another makeup product I gave a go from that same haul of November and have been obsessed with ever since is their infamous Skinny Brow Pencil. I say 'infamous' as honestly, I just had to give this brow pencil a go after hearing so, so many people raving about it lately. At only £2 each, it almost sounds too good to be true - but it really isn't! A super-fine pencil that gives such a defined, precise application and the ability to create hair-like strokes on your brows - it's perfect. I picked up two colours as it's so affordable and I personally like to use a lighter shade through the front and a darker one in the main bulk and tail of the brow and it works amazingly! The texture is creamy enough to apply, but with a slight waxy feel that gives enough resistance and ensures they stay in place throughout the day and the handy spoolie on the other end is pretty good at brushing things through before and after too! I think I've found my new favourite brow filler...

OPV LIQUID GLITTER IN 'GIVE ME GLOW' - Another liquid glitter I found this month - and have been loving ever since - is this one from OPV. This is housed more like a glitter liquid liner and applies in a similar way, just with more of an opaque finish. It's got more of a finer glitter than the Stila offering, but is just as reflective, sparkly and just gorgeous and I love this rich, orangey copper colour too. I mean, I think we all knew I would...

WET N WILD LIQUID CATSUIT MATTE LIQUID LIPSTICK IN 'BEHIND THE BLEACHERS' - Lips-wise, I finally got hold of a certain shade of these liquid lipsticks from Wet 'N' Wild this month and let's just say, it's just as much of a favourite as the previous two I tried before. A deeper, burgundy-toned red that is perfect for Winter-time - I love it. Its almost-moussey texture quickly dries down to a powdery-matte finish and it's fully opaque in one layer too! And once it's dried down, it really does not budge easily throughout the day either. A few minimal touch-ups at the very centre of the lips after eating or drinking - you know, the usual - and you'll be fine!

JEFFREE STAR COSMETICS VELOUR LIQUID LIPSTICKS IN 'MANNEQUIN' AND 'CELEBRITY SKIN' - Also for the lips, I finally got the chance to try out the infamous liquid lippies from Jeffree Star - also during that Beauty Bay Black Friday Sale - and so far, so good! Bother nude shades that I'd heard amazing things about - particularly from SophDoesNails, who has a very similar skin-tone to myself - I am in love with them so far! 'Mannequin' is a pretty, light (but not too light) pinky-nude; whilst 'Celebrity Skin' is a touch deeper and a little more mauve-toned - but both are gorgeous nudes. The formula is very liquidy, but soon dries down to a super-matte finish once applied and is pretty hard-wearing throughout the day too!

SO SU LASHES BY SUZANNE JACKSON IN 'DUBAI' - I think I've possibly found my new favourite pair of lashes this month. Super full, long and voluminous - just how I like 'em! They're so dramatic, but also so fluffy and wispy at the same time and I've worn them a good few times and so far, I love them! They're so, so easy to apply (like, possibly the easiest lashes to get on your eyes that I've used) and what's even better, they were only a fiver from Primark! Used with good ol' Duo Lash Glue and they stay in place perfectly all day long and I've found them pretty easy to clean afterwards too! Hopefully they'll last well, as I think I'll be getting a lot of use out of these...

WET N WILD BRUSHES - I love discovering new makeup brushes and recently, I've found that Wet 'N' Wild do some pretty good ones - particularly, for the eyes! I picked a few up in Beauty Bay's Black Friday Sale and loved them so much, I bought a couple more afterwards and so far, they're great! Super soft and not at all scratchy, picks up and applies pigment really well and so far, they've washed up well with my usual eyeshadow brush spot cleaner aswell! And, if that wasn't enough, they're pretty damn affordable too...

RIMMEL 60 SECONDS NAIL POLISH IN 'OH MY GOLD!' AND MAYBELLINE COLOR SHOW NAIL POLISH IN 'BLING BLING' - Finally, a couple of new nail polish loves from this month. I picked both of these up with Christmas/New Years in mind and actually ended using both for my Christmas Day Nails - which you can see in more detail here! The former is a gorgeous yellow-gold metallic lacquer, whilst the latter is your classic gold glitter 'topper' and I actually bought them after realising I was in need of both in my stash - especially with the festive season coming up. Both gorgeous colours and work so, so well on the nails - I am very happy with these!

And so there we have it - all of my beauty faves from the month of December! I definitely found some good'un's this month. And I guess that also pretty much wraps up this year's series of #DitsyDecember too! I will be posting again later on today to wish you all a very happy and healthy 2019, but as for 'regular' posts - we have come to the end! Sob. As always, thank you so, so much for all of your support and I really do hope you enjoyed this year's series as much as I enjoyed putting it all together. I'll see you all again tonight!
