It's nearing the end of July - can you believe? We're nearing August already! However, that in turn also means it's time again for me to take a little trip down memory lane and see just what I was loving in July's of past years and ask myself - 'Where is it now?' As in, do I still enjoy using it or even own it anymore? Let's get started...
- The first edition is of course from way back in 2015. And perhaps unsurprisingly - considering how this was a good four years ago now - this one has the least amount of favourites that have carried all the way through to now. Honestly, there really isn't anything that I featured in this edition that I still regularly use or even own to this day. A lot of them have kinda, over time, been replaced by other (mainly newer) products that I came across or tried and so whilst I loved all of these products a heck of a lot back in 2014, fast forward to 2019 and it's a bit of a different story...
- July became the month of the year where we'd always have new Tanya Burr Cosmetics stuff. The 'Chasing The Sun' Collection of 2016 is no discontinued and the brand in general is unfortunately now gone for good too, but I remember at the time I did really love it. As for now, three years on, I don't really use anything out of that particular range that much anymore - however, I must admit I do still enjoy her Matte Lip in 'Martha Moo' every now and again. It's such a shame I can't pick up a back-up as maybe then I would use it a little more! The L'Oreal Nude Magique Cushion Foundation is another thing I really liked, but has since been discontinued so I can no longer use even if I wanted to and similarly, their Glam Bronze Cushion Bronzer is another that I did quite like at the time but is now gone for good, I think. The MUA Hydro Powder I never repurchased after getting through this original pan - I soon found others I liked even more I guess - and the Barry M Illuminating Strobe Cream I honestly, really never use nowadays unfortunately. I don't use cream highlighter sticks as often as powder highlighters and when I do, I generally have my staple favourites! We all know Maybelline's Lash Sensational is a favourite of mine, but I never found the 'Luscious' Version to be as good in the end compared to the original and I admittedly never really wear Rimmel's Kate Moss Lipstick in 'Rock 'N' Roll Nude' much at all these days! However, one thing I do still really enjoy from 2016's line-up is Barry M's Molten Metal Nail Paint in 'Copper Mine'. We all know how much I love this whole collection of polishes and this rich, warm copper hue remains a much-used fave of mine to this day!
- This edition is a bit of a mixed-bag. There's some products which remain utter favourites that I love and use on the regular, some which I still really like but just don't use right now and then some which I love, but are no longer available - boo! I still adore and use the likes of the Garnier Moisture Bomb Tissue Masks, Rimmel Stay Matte Liquid Lipsticks and Essence Eye Blender Brush all the time. Then, we have the Tanya Burr Cosmetics stuff which, whilst I really enjoyed a lot of (the Illuminating Powder especially so) the range and actually brand as a whole is no more and so you can no longer get your hands on any of it! I still really like products such as the Soap and Glory Whipped Clean Shower Butter and also Essence's Lash Princess Mascara and their Sun Club Matte Bronzing Powder but are not using them both at lot at the moment and as for the rest? I guess I've fully moved on...
- Finally, we come to this time, last year - 2018! And actually, I'd say this was a pretty successful one! There really are so many products in here which remain strong favourites and go-to's in my collection, 12 months on. CYO's When The Sun Don't Shine Bronzer in 'Fair' has fast become one of my favourite bronzers in my stash, both the nail polishes from Barry M have come back into the forefront of my collection all over again this Summer and their Peppermint Lip Scrub has surprisingly actually become a firm staple in my collection of beauty basics. Perfect for keeping my lips soft, supple and smooth, ready for lip colour! We all know by now that the Lottie London Ready, Set! Go Translucent Finishing Powder is my holy grail loose powder (and how crazy that it's around a year ago I discovered it for the first time!), their Eye Foils are equally just as firm favourites of mine and the L'Oreal Les Chocolats Liquid Lipsticks are one of my favourite ranges of matte liquid lips - both for their formula and super-yummy scent! And admittedly, while I don't use the I Heart Revolution Glow Hearts Highlighters as much right now, I still really like them and need to get back into using them more often. Basically, the only main thing that isn't so much a regular go-to anymore a year on are the Revolution Nudes Matte Liquid Lipsticks (these came before their newer range of matte liquid lipsticks in their Lip Boutique which, having now tried those, I have come to much prefer).
