The Many Uses Of A Lip Liner...

It's no big secret that I love a good lip liner. Mainly, to help guide me in lip colour application, add definition and most definitely over-line my natural lips and make them appear much bigger and plumper. Sorry not sorry. But, there's even more uses of them too (which I also employ myself a lot too), so I thought I'd compile them all together into one of my 'The Many Uses Of...' posts that I've done many times before. Let's get started...

TO LINE YOUR LIPS (OBVS) - The obvious one, but important to give a mention to nevertheless! In my opinion, a good lip liner in a good colour for whatever shade you're choosing to wear on your lips that day always helps aid not only longevity but ease of application too. Lines will look more defined, crisp and smooth and a good formula should in turn mean they stay looking that way aswell!

...BUT ALSO TO FILL THINGS IN TOO! - Want even more longwear and 'hardyness' from your lip colour? Try taking your lip liner of choice further than just the outer borders of your lips - using your lip liner to colour in most of, if not all of your lips can help your lip colour to last even longer/better! Not only that, perhaps if you've got a lip colour with a slightly less opaque formula/finish, doing this can help make things more full in coverage too.

TO CHEAT YOUR IDEAL LIP SHAPE - Now, this is the one I personally have come to really like using lip liners for and what has come to be the main reason I use them basically every single time I do my makeup/my lips. Overlining! I do generally quite like my lips and am quite happy with how naturally full they are but overlining is something that became really popular a few years back (you know when Kylie Jenner claimed that was how she got her massive lips all of a sudden...) and yet has really stuck with me ever since. I simply go slightly over my natural lip line (particularly so on my top lip where I have less fullness) and it does the trick at making my lips appear fuller, plumper and just 'juicer'! Lip fillers who?

TO CONTOUR AND ADD DEPTH - Want to make your lips look even fuller and more plump, without resorting to lip fillers? Take a slightly deeper lip liner than the colour you're using to line/overline in general and just gently draw on the very outer edge - focusing it on the outer corners of your lips especially and the very centre, around your cupid's bow and very bottom of your lower lip) and you'll find it adds this 'natural' kind of shadow which makes your lips look more '3D' and in turn - more full and on the large side of things too!

ON THE EYES? - Finally, want a colourful liner and don't want to splash out on a brand new kohl/pencil eyeliner? Maybe a shade in your lip liner collection could do the trick! Of course, to ensure things are completely safe and sanitary, always sharpen your lip liner before ever using it around your eye area - and maybe to be even more on the safe side, stay clear of the immediate waterline/lashline department - but aside from that, a good lip liner could well save you having to buy a brand new eye pencil!
