December: The Love List #DitsyDecember

December has been and gone - Christmas is over and it's somehow New Year's Eve already! And just like the very end of every month of the year, it's time to talk everything beaut that I've been loving throughout the month - this time, for the last time in 2019! Just where has the time gone? There's not too many favourites this month as I've had other things on my mind (Christmas and #DitsyDecember prep specifically) but I've still discovered a handful of gems, so without any further ado - let's get started...

MUA BRONZED MATTE BRONZING POWDERS IN 'SOLAR 100' AND 'SOLAR 110' - Makeup-wise, there's really not a lot of new favourites for December - which tends to always be the case every year! I don't know whether it's down to me relying mostly on my holy grails for Christmas and New Year's or just the fact that I'm so busy sorting things out for Christmas that I don't have time to dedicate to trying new makeup but either way - this past month I only really have one new makeup item which I tried and fell in love with - and they are these bronzers from MUA! I first heard about these from the lovely MakeMeUpMissa (as you would have seen in this post I dedicated to all of the amazing makeup items I've tried because of her recommendations) and just as always - she's still not steered me wrong. These are so, so cheap and yet such good quality at the same time! The former is the perfect bronzer shade for me (just deep enough for my paler skin-tone and with a warm, but non-orangey undertone) whilst the latter is slightly more cool-toned and so I've found it makes for a pretty nice contour hue for me! Both are fully matte in finish, really blendable and are just pigmented enough to add colour easily but not be difficult to work with so all in all - I love these!

GWA LUXURY FAUX MINK FALSE LASHES - Not too long ago I bought these lashes in Primark (as part of one of their exclusive ranges that they stock) and this Christmas, they've quickly become some new go-to lashes for me! I've wanted to try GWA Lashes for years after hearing so many good things and if these ones are anything to go by - I think the hype is most definitely worth it! These lashes are such great quality - so fluffy, full and as the name suggests - almost 'real' hair-like! They're very 3D in appearance and that really translates well on the eyes. The band on both pairs is very thin and flexible and makes for pretty easy and fool-proof application. I simply use my holy grail lash glue (Duo Lash Glue, FYI) as usual and these beauties stay in place all day or night long with no issues at all! Super comfortable and lightweight-feeling and I just love the effect they give. 'Saint' is a slightly smaller, more rounded lash whilst 'Sinner' is much longer, more dramatic and with a slightly more winged-out shape. Both gorgeous, both new faves of mine!

BEAUTY BAY EYN FACE BRUSHES - December seems to have been the month of me buying, trying and really enjoying some new brushes! After having such good success with some of the Beauty Bay EYN Eye Brushes, I decided to pick up a few of the ones they've designed for the Face and so far - I really like them! Pretty affordable single brushes that are of such great quality and do the job well - what more could you ask for, eh? Admittedly, so far I've only got a chance to really get to grips with a few of them but going on how good they are, I think these are all gonna become new go-to's of mine in my makeup brush pots...

ESSENCE 'SMUDGING BRUSH' AND 'HOLOLIGHTER BRUSH' - Essence were another brand that I picked up a couple of brushes from this past month and have fund new favourites from doing so. This time, we only have the two brush styles but as a result, I've really got the opportunity to suss them both out well these past few weeks and so far, I like what I see! The former is a great lower lash-line brush (great for either applying or - you guessed it - smudging and smoking out colours there) whilst the latter is a great little highlighter brush that's just the right size to precisely apply your glow but also blend it out at the same time and with a really nice rounded shape that just fits all of the typical highlighting areas of the face like a dream! Both pretty soft to touch, pick up and blend product seamlessly and wash up well too.

PRIMARK PS SMOKEY EYE BRUSH SET - The final set of makeup brushes that I bought this month and am really pleased I did is this little set from Primark! I was browsing my local store a couple of weeks back and came across this trio of brushes which caught my fancy. This kinda sums up three of the main types of brushes I love to use on my eyes - a small round brush to pack on the deepest colour in the crease and outer corner, a large fluffy brush for blending and a slightly pointed, pencil brush that's perfect for applying colour to the lower lash-line! Just throw in a flat shading brush to pack on shimmers onto the lid and they're pretty much all of the main styles of eye brushes that I need for a complete eye look! And so far, I can already tell that these three are gonna be some new favourites of mine. Once again, really good quality for the price - super soft, apply, blend and just generally get the job done well and they wash up impeccably also! I think I may even go back for a second set if they still have them in-store next time I go...

BARRY M GLITTER NAIL PAINTS IN 'FASHION ICON' AND 'SOCIALITE' - Nails-wise, these polishes have been firm favourites. The former a gorgeous pinky-purple glitter, the latter a pretty deeper, 'true' purple glitter. Both deliver enough on the sparkle front in  one layer, dry quickly and can complement or switch up a plethora of nail polish colours - whether used alone, as a base for other colours or as a glitter top coat over a 'creme' polish base!

REVOLUTION NAIL POLISH IN 'PASSION' - Finally, another nail polish I tried this month and have loved is this one from Revolution. These super-affordable lacquers have been a new favourite this year and so when I wanted a new creme red, I knew their range was the one to go for. And this one was perfect! A true, not-too-bright-nor-too-deep red that as always with this formula - applies fully opaque in two coats, dries quickly and has a super glossy, shiny finish. What more could you ask for?

So there have it - not only the end of all of my December Favourites, but also the end of The Love List as a whole for 2019! I hope you've enjoyed this series this year just as much as I've enjoyed sharing all of my favourites. I hope to start it back up again next year, so expect to see the same kind of format, at the same time (the last post of every month), kicking off at the end of January...
