It's not Christmas without some festive-tinged nails and of course, I just had to show you all what look I chose this year - like I always do! And as perhaps expected, it's red and gold-based. Typically Christmassey but hey - you can't go wrong with a classic at Christmas, can you?
First off, I layered on a base of the Barry M Molten Metal Nail Paint in 'Gold Digger'. A pale, slightly cool-toned gold with a gorgeous metallic finish - it's not fully opaque in one coat but I left it there as I knew I'd be going in with some many other polishes afterwards. Then, to balance it out and make it a little more of a classically festive golden hue I went in on top with a coat of the H&M Nail Polish in '' - a warmer, more yellowy gold metallic with some fine glitter running through aswell this time too. Then, with the main 'base' of this look nailed (geddit?), it was time for one thing and one thing only - glitter! And to kick all of the sparkly stuff off, I went in with the Seventeen Glitter Nail Polish in 'Red'. Like I said, for this year's Christmas nails I really wanted to combine red and gold together in one look and thought this glitter polish would be a great way to incorporate the rouge element! This polish is actually no longer available (boo!) but in essence, it's just is like your standard red glitter polish - a mix of smaller and larger true red glitter flecks in a clear base - so should be pretty easy to dupe and one layer of this was more than enough to get a decent dusting across all of my nails! Then, to bring back the gold-ness I went over the top with a layer of another clear-base glitter - this time, Maybelline's Color Show Top Coat in 'Bling Bling' - a true gold. This also has a mix of smaller and larger flecks, but this time they're more 'irregularly shaped' as opposed to hexagonal - if you get what I mean! Then, finally, to finish things off - sealing everything down into place whilst also adding a final layer of glittery goodness at the same time - I chose out the Rimmel Finishing Touch Glitter Top Coat! Because, a top coat is always essential with any nail look but when it comes to any glittery or sparkly ones - a glittery top coat is even more handy to have! All in all, I was pretty pleased with how these festive nails turned out...
