Dainty Ditsy In 2019 - The Best Bits... #DitsyDecember

As we near the end of the series and the end of the year as a whole, it's time to look back on this blog over the past 12 months - something I just love doing every #DitsyDecember! Whilst in the New Year I look back on all of my beauty favourites (and 2019's Edition will definitely be coming in early 2020), this post focuses more on notable moments and favourite posts. So, this is Dainty Ditsy in 2019...

January began as always with me looking ahead towards the coming year and then listing off all of my beauty favourites here and here. I also looked ahead in terms of some beauty products I wanted to use up in 2019 and tried a new amazing scent from Soap and Glory, before also coming across some other non-makeup gems too - such as this brush cleaner! I did try some makeup during January, but to be honest it was a bit of a mixed bag! I did however coin this year's blog series - 'Where Are They Now? Favourites' though - so the first month of this year will always be a good'un for me...

Next comes February which to me, was a pretty makeup-heavy month! From hauls to first impressions, wishlists to tips 'n' tricks on how to shop more smartly for your makeup goodies - February had it all in retrospect! But that wasn't all - I discovered a brand new favourite perfume and even rounded up the first batch of Empties for 2019 too!

March was quite a nail-focused month actually. I tried a whole host of brand new polishes and polish combinations (these ones here and here possibly being my favourite, favourites of them all) before having a well-needed declutter of my whole nail polish collection - but then talking about some new colours/formulas/finishes I fancied adding afterwards - oops. Asides from nails though, I also tried another batch of new drugstore makeup (with me finding a few new faves), gave some more makeup tips 'n' tricks such as this one right here and showed you all my new and updated 'makeup station' set-up which I was pretty pleased with...

Next up is April - my namesake month - and first off, I started another series which has ran throughout this year and will hopefully conclude in 2020 - 'Makeup 101'! I also recapped over Zoella Beauty - with news of them soon finishing for good - before sharing some new additions to my makeup brush collection! I sampled a different format of face mask for the first time, again tried a lot of new nail polishes throughout the month - this shade perhaps being my top pick of them all - and I also fell back in love with Maybelline Lash Sensational Mascara once again...

In May it was my Birthday - yay! And as a result, I shared both the nails and makeup I wore/chose for the occasion. Not only that, with it being my 22nd Birthday, I shared 22 of my favourite makeup products ever, before giving you all an insight into what gifts I was lucky enough to receive too! Birthday aside though, I tried out the new Zoella Beauty range for the last time, shared some of my favourite drugstore bronzers and also some awesome makeup products I would repurchase in a heartbeat. All in all, May was a pretty good month!

The month of June was a good one! I shared some of my favourite makeup Instagram accounts, my current go-to highlighters and of course tried what became possibly my favourite eyeshadow palette of 2019 - the BPerfect X Stacey Marie Carnival Palette! I also shared a couple of hauls from Beauty Bay and Superdrug - the latter of which contained two more awesome nail polishes from Barry M which I showed here and here and *Spoiler Alert* - loved!

July started off with me trying a new eyeshadow palette and being at first unsure - until I heard other people's views about it. Interesting! I also shared some of my favourite bold lips for Summer, rounded up another collection of Empties (this time, with a brand new format) and of course - with it being halfway through the year - I shared my top favourite products that I'd tried so far! With me trying out the Carnival Palette last month, I shared some of my top tips 'n' tricks when it comes to colourful eyeshadows, before dedicating the entire last week of posts in the month to re-doing some classic Beauty Brand Favourites!

Next, we come to the month of August and first things first - I made my first ever Fenty Beauty purchase - which was pretty exciting! This month was also another makeup-heavy month overall too. From rediscovering an old favourite highlighter palette to lip liners tips 'n' tricks and makeup I'd happily (but gladly don't) pay more for! I did a few more updated Beauty Brand Favourites and discovered some awesome new products from Makeup Revolution - namely, both their new Conceal and Hydrate Range and also their Carmi MUA collaboration palette...

In September I began by comparing the at the time new Conceal and Hydrate Range by Revolution to their original Conceal and Define - firstly the Foundations and then, the Concealers! There were some interesting results, to say the least. I also came across what has since become a staple in my everyday makeup routine - Revolution Pro Skin Finish - all thanks to MakeMeUpMissa, before also giving some lip gloss recommendations I'd discovered over the past few months, being someone who never used to be a big fan! I also rounded up all of my thoughts on the new nail polishes from Revolution, before finishing off the month with just a few of the many reasons I adore my Soph Extra Spice Palette!

October was fairly makeup-central once again. I did another fresh batch of Beauty Brand Favourites and with Autumn now in full swing, gave you all the lowdown on a handful of my favourite bold, berry lips! I tried a new awesome nail polish formula by Barry M, but also showed off some of my old lacquer favourites when it comes to Autumn too. I emptied my beauty bin once again and rounded up some of my go-to eye primers and bases - because we all know how important that is for a good eyeshadow look...

Then we come to the penultimate month of the year - November - and though a lot of this month was spent as usual preparing #DitsyDecember, I still managed to fit in some good posts! With Blogmas in mind, I shared some of my top tips and tricks to make it as successful as possible, came across a new awesome face cleanser and also started using - and loving - a great hair mask too! I had a handful of random lip products to try this month - so I went ahead and did exactly that - before sharing some items on my drugstore beauty wishlist! To round things off, I also discovered a really great single shampoo - and it's only £1 a bottle too. Bargain!

Then, finally, we come to December - the final month of 2019 and of course the month we're in right now! And with there being daily posts for #DitsyDecember, there really are too many favourites to mention but if you fancy a look back on them all - feel free to check them out here. The month's not even over just yet and I already feel it's been a good'un...

So, overall, this year's been pretty good for Dainty Ditsy! I'm so happy with the content I've created and I really hope you've all been loving it just as much too! I can't wait to see what 2020 holds...
