2018 Favourites Part Two: Bath and Body, Haircare and Skincare

Welcome to the second and final, instalment of my 2018 Favourites! Back on Friday, I kicked things off here with Part One of my Yearly Favourites - as I always do - by giving shout-outs to all of my 'Makeup', 'Nails' and 'Tools' that I've been obsessed with these past 12 months and so, now it's time for Part Two! And as usual, today I'm going to be rounding things up with all of my top picks from the 'Bath and Body', 'Haircare' and 'Skincare' categories. So, without any further ado - let's get started...

Bath and Body:

BEST PERFUME - 'Daisy' By Marc Jacobs - My all-time favourite perfume! I do want to try something new again soon - maybe in 2019? - but for now, this one's remained my go-to. Sweet, floral, but also very musky. Perfect!
BEST BODY SPRAY - I Heart Revolution X Soph Vanilla and Creme Brulee Body Mist - However, on the rare occasions when I wasn't wearing perfume, I really got back into body sprays/mists again and this one was definitely my favourite! This is so sweet, vanilla-ry and just very yummy - but it's still not too sickly or overpowering at the same time. It's got the same kind of deep, musky base that 'Daisy' (and basically any perfume or body mist that I like) has - and you get such a ma-hoo-sive bottle too! I feel like this is gonna last me a long time... MENTIONED HERE.
BEST SHOWER GEL - Zoella Beauty Splash Botanics 'Make A Splash' Moisturising Body Wash - I haven't so much had a favourite bubble bath product of 2018, but I definitely do have a new go-to shower gel of the year. Released as part of the Zoella Beauty Summer 2018 range, I have been obsessed with this body wash ever since. Not only does this really thoroughly cleanse, the creamy body lotion-like formula moisturises at the same time! It lathers up nicely and just feels so luxurious to use and the scent is possibly one of my favourites from Zoella Beauty so far. Such a grown-up, sophisticated fragrance that I feel like would appeal to a wide range of people... MENTIONED HERE.
BEST BODY SCRUB - Zoella Beauty 'Pretty Polished' Body Scrub - An oldie, but goldie - also, from Zoella Beauty - is this body scrub. This is actually part of her permanent range of the classic musky fragrance that Zoe first released all those years ago and I have to say, that fragrance combined with the gorgeous formula is a winning combination! It's scrubby, but also very creamy so gets the job done, without feeling aggravating on the skin in any way - which is a must for a body scrub I feel! MENTIONED HERE.
BEST BODY MOISTURISER/BUTTER/LOTION - LUSH Sleepy Body Lotion - A lovely Christmas present from 2017, I thoroughly enjoyed making my way through this tube throughout the course of 2018. Not only does the sweet, lavender scent pretty yummy, I also find it a really nice way to help for a good nights sleep too - whether it be when you need an early night or simply aren't in a good head-space. The formula of this body lotion is gorgeous too. Thick, but not too thick and really creamy and intensely hydrating on the skin. It sinks in fairly quickly and easily too, and never leaves behind any greasy residue! MENTIONED HERE.
BEST TANNING PRODUCT - Dove DermaSpa Summer Revived Light-Medium Gradual Self Tan - This remained my main tan favourite throughout 2018. I love gradual tan/body butter hybrids for getting my golden glow on personally and this one is definitely the best I've tried. In just one application, it really does make a difference, but can be built up over time aswell if you want to. It has this lovely olive undertone which means you're never left looking like an Oompa Loompa (which is always a bonus) and I find it lasts a while before needing a re-do aswell.
BEST FOOT CREAM - Soap and Glory 'Heel Genius' Foot Cream - Finally for Body, I just had to give this a well-deserved mention. I think this has featured in every Yearly Favourites I've ever done and honestly, I doubt that'll ever really change as this is without a doubt, the best foot cream you'll try. Unlike others which almost mask the problem, giving the illusion that your feet are smoother, softer and crack-free before your feet soon show themselves to be just as bad as they were before a day or so later - this one actually sorts them out for good! It really does almost 'repair' your feet - and keeps them looking that way too!

Haircare:

BEST DRY SHAMPOO - Batiste 'Bare' Dry Shampoo - I went back to good ol' Batiste for my dry shampoo in 2018 and this one in particular has been a firm favourite ever since. The same great formula, just in possibly the best 'scent' I've tried so far. It really is like it says on the tin - a very soft, almost undetectable fragrance which isn't overpowering in anyway. I personally like how subtle it is so it allows any fragrance I'm wearing to really shine through! MENTIONED HERE.
BEST HAIRCARE RANGE - OGX Lavender Platinum - I've loved OGX for my haircare for a while now, but this year I feel like I really found 'the' range for me - this one right here! I use the matching Shampoo and Conditioner and love them both. Not only do they help to subtly keep my bleached blonde colour in check tone-wise, they also really hydrate and nourish it at the same time - a must when you have coloured hair! The sweet, lavender scent is also pretty yummy too... MENTIONED HERE.
BEST TREATMENT - OGX Renewing Moroccan Argan Oil Weightless Reviving Dry Oil - Another fave from OGX for my ol' tresses - again, I've been using their 'dry oil sprays' for a while now, but I feel like I may have found my favourite one this year. It's no secret that Argan Oil is great for your hair, especially when it's dry/damaged/coloured/whatever and this spray definitely makes the difference I feel. I like to liberally spritz my hair with this stuff before and after blow-drying and not only does it make my hair feel really soft, it also makes it look super-shiny and feel pretty healthy too. MENTIONED HERE.
Aussie 3 Minute Miracle Colour Deep Treatment - I love a good deep conditioner for my hair and this year, I've fully got back into my love for good ol' Aussie 3 Minute Miracle. This time, though, I've really been enjoying using the 'Colour' Edition. I thought it was about time I tried this one, having had coloured hair in some way, shape or form for a good few years now - and currently in the most extreme I've had - and so far, I really, really love it. I love slathering my hair in it, leaving it to work its magic for as long as possible before rinsing off and I just find it to be so intensely nourishing on my hair. MENTIONED HERE.
BEST HEAT PROTECTANT - Tresemme Heat Defence Styling Spray - I'd say I'm petty loyal when it comes to heat protecting spray on my hair. Not only with the actual application of it - like, every time I blow-dry my hair, I have to use it - but also when it comes to the brand I use. For a long while now, I've gone back to this classic from Tresemme and I've really been enjoying it. Obviously, you never really truly know how well something like a heat protecting spray works, but in terms of what I can see and feel - I think this one's doing a pretty good job. My hair always feels soft, supple and relatively frizz-free when using this - and I think they're signs of a good hair product... MENTIONED HERE.
BEST STYLING SPRAY - Lee Stafford Dehumidifier Spray - As I've mentioned, my hair can be rather frizz-prone - so anything that's aimed at targeting and reducing that in anyway is always something I'm interested in. And that's exactly why I picked this product up a couple of years ago - and let's just say, I've been a fan of it ever since! A few spritzes of this throughout my hair as a final, finishing step of my haircare/styling routine and I find it does help. Admittedly, over the years my hair definitely has improved and become more easily-tamed than it used to be, but I still feel like products like this are great to have in my stash for whenever it may decide to go back its old ways, or the weather goes a little wacky and I just want an extra layer of 'something' to at least try and combat it.
BEST HAIRSPRAY - L'Oreal Elnett Extra Strength Hairspray - I only really ever use hairspray when I curl or wave my hair, but nevertheless, when I do - it'll always be this one. So fine and almost invisible and very easy to brush out - but at the same time, completely holds my hair and style in place, how I left it, all day/night long. It's just such a classic - and for good reason too - and I guess that's why the scent is kinda nostalgic to me...
BEST TOOLS - Wet Brush - I still adore this hairbrush. Yes, I know, you may at first think - 'But it's just a hair brush!' - but seriously, this is the best one you'll ever use. Especially if, like me, you have long, easily-tangled hair that's coloured and maybe also kinda dry/damaged. This will soon become your new best friend for your hair. Whether wet or dry, this just glides through your hair with little to no effort at all. No tugging, pulling and no unnecessary breakage or loss of hair either. MENTIONED HERE.
Then, as is the same as before, I am still absolutely loving my Babyliss Boutique Salon Power Hairdryer when it comes to blow-drying my hair and also my GHD Straighteners. However, my first pair actually broke a couple of months back (boo!) so I soon re-invested in a new pair - same style, just the classic back set-up. And I love them...

Skincare:

BEST REMOVER Garnier Micellar Cleansing Water - Ah, the old classic. Everyone loves this, right? And for good reason too - it's awesome! Perfect for that first cleanse to remove the main bulk of your makeup - super quick and effective, non-greasy and in no way irritating on the skin either.
BEST CLEANSING PRODUCT Una Brennan Superfacialist Vitamin C+ Skin Renew Cleansing Oil - Once I've used the above to remove the majority of my makeup, or just general grime from the day, I'll always go in with some of this for my 'actual' cleanse. An oil consistency, this really easily breaks down any leftover makeup residue on the skin and yet, never leaves my face feeling really slippy or shiny afterwards. A great way to round up the whole cleansing step in your skincare and properly ensure your face really is squeaky-clean!
BEST FACIAL EXFOLIATOR Superdrug Naturally Radiant Glycolic Cleansing Pads - A continued favourite from last year's Yearly Favourites round-up, these are my go-to when it comes to exfoliating my face. I used to be all about those 'manual' scrubs that you apply, massage in gently and rinse off, but nowadays it's the acid exfoliators that are much more my cup of tea - and this one is definitely my favourite. Gentle, quick, but wholly effective and gets the job done well. And, if that wasn't enough - they're so, so affordable too! A great dupe for the ones from the likes of Nip + Fab which I started of using when I first got into products like these. Seriously, these ones from Superdrug are basically the same thing... MENTIONED HERE.
BEST SERUM Una Brennan Superfacialist Vitamin C+ Glow Boost Serum - After cleansing and exfoliating, the next step for me before going in with my moisturiser is always some serum. Not only does this add that extra layer of hydration, it actually also helps your day/night cream that you apply over the top work much better and more effectively in terms of how well it nourishes your skin too! A little of this really foes a long way aswell, hence why I'm still working my way through it...
BEST DAY AND NIGHT CREAMS - Superdrug Naturally Radiant Day and Night Creams - I guess the one, major change in my Skincare in 2018 was the discovery of this day/night cream duo. Having already fell in love with the Glycolic Cleansing Pads from this range before (as you would have heard about already above), I fancied giving more of the collection a go - and I'm very glad I did. These are awesome! The day cream is so moisturising, yet sinks in really quickly and leave behind minimal residue - making it a great for underneath makeup. The night cream is a little thicker and more rich in texture - as you'd expect a night cream to be - yet still doesn't leave my face feeling greasy in any way and come the next morning, it really does feel like it's made a difference in the feel and look of my skin! Like the pads, they're both super affordable products and yet, such high quality at the same time. Love! MENTIONED HERE.
BEST FACIAL SUNSCREEN Soap and Glory Make Yourself Youthful Sunshield Superfluid SPF50+ - In terms of facial sunscreen, I still really enjoy this one from Soap and Glory. Especially in the Summer (although I do obviously try and use it all throughout the year in general) this is a great option. So thin and lightweight, applies easily and sinks into the skin in no time at all, but perhaps most importantly - it works like a dream underneath makeup. Because its completely invisible on the skin, it creates no white cast and my makeup applies and lasts identically to how it usually does!
BEST TREATMENT - Nip + Fab Teen Skin Fix Spot Zap - Honestly, I don't actually often get spots, but if I ever do - this is the product I'll reach for. Quickly massage the rollerball full of product over the top of the bare issue area of skin before bed and come the next morning, you'll definitely notice an improvement. Obviously spots don't disappear completely overnight, but this certainly gets to work on reducing inflammation and texture nicely in just one treatment - and that only gets better the more nights you use it...
BEST EYE CREAM - Superdrug Naturally Radiant Brightening Eye Cream - This is still my favourite, go-to eye cream. This was actually the first product I used from this range way back when and got me into all of the others that followed, so not only is this great, I guess I've also got a lot to thank for it! Realistically, you never truly know how well an eye cream actually works until years and years down the line of course, but in terms of right now - I really like this one. It keeps my eye area nicely hydrated and plump, but is lightweight enough to not overload it too much. MENTIONED HERE.
BEST FACE MASK - L'Oréal Pure Clay 'Glow' Mask - Finally - a Face Mask! I love face masks and though could probably easily mention tonnes in this segment, if I had to choose just one fave from 2018 - I think it'd be this one. Last Yearly Faves featured another one of the L'Oreal Pure Clay Masks, but this year it's the turn of 'Glow'. The first one I tried from the range and I guess this year I decided to revisit it - and I'm very happy I did. MENTIONED HERE.

So there we have it - part two of my 2018 Favourites all done and dusted! I can't believe that another round of yearly favourites has been completed for another year - the next time, it'll be for 2019! Madness. I hope you all enjoyed and perhaps had fun guessing what'd be making the cut - considering a lot of these choices are pretty obvious, having been featured numerous times throughout the year - and definitely leave down below some of your own top picks beauty-wise from 2018, I'd love to know!
