Tried and Tested: Revolution Nail Polishes

As you may have seen round these parts, over the past few weeks, I've been trying and testing the new Revolution High Gloss Nail Polishes. Ever since I saw the brand had finally added nail lacquers to their ever-growing product line up, I knew I had to pick a selection up to give a go myself. I mean, Revolution are one of my favourite brands after all and I love my nail polish - surely it'd be a match made in heaven, right? Well, now I've done all three shades as dedicated 'Polish Pick' posts here, here and here - I think it's the right time to give my overall answer...

These polishes claim a lot. Namely, that they are 'enriched with avocado oil to help nourish nails whilst offering a gorgeous high shine finish' and also that 'every colour covers the nail in just one coat' too! As with most ranges from Revolution, the colour selection is awesomely vast and I love that especially when it comes to nail polishes as I really enjoy wearing and using all kinds of colours and tones of my nails - as you most likely know if you've seen my Polish Pick posts! So, you've not only got your nudes, pinks, reds, purples, you've also got some pops of colour too - with some oranges, yellows and greens! There's also some different finishes thrown in for good measure too - as demonstrated by one of the shades I picked up myself, which is more of a sheen-ey, satin formula as opposed to the main bulk of the range, which is your standard creme texture.

So, what colours did I pick up myself to give a whirl? Well, I eventually plumped for a nude ('Lingerie'), a pink ('Satin') and a red ('Rush') - mainly in attempt to give enough variety rto start with to enable me to really see what the range and formulation was all about. And, like I said earlier, whilst the nude and red are your standard creme finish, the pink called 'Satin' has the slightest shimmer running through it too. So, I really did try to cover all bases here! And I think that really helped in me getting as best and well-rounded view of  this range as possible.

As for my thoughts, as you may have seen in all of my 'Polish Pick' posts I did featuring all three of these polishes - I really like this range so far. I had no issues with any of the colours at all! All went on nearly fully opaque in just one coat (so pretty close to the 'one coat only' claim they make!) and with a second they all ended up completely even in colour. They dried quickly - both in-between coats and at the very end - and they all left behind such a glossy, super-shiny, gel-like finish (even before applying any top coat!). And in terms of longevity, I'd say they all fared pretty well. They all went a good few days before any chips started appearing and even then, they were all quite small and minimal - so I think it's safe to say this formula is quite hardy and long-lasting! All in all, I think I'll be picking up some more of the nail polishes from Revolution in the future...
