January: 'Where Are They Now?' Favourites

Welcome to a new 'feature' on Dainty Ditsy! Having started this blog a good five years or so ago (scary stuff), I've also done my Monthly Favourites posts in some way, shape or form ever since my blog first began too. So, over that time period, it's safe to say that I've definitely built up a decent-sized collection of them all the way from 2015 to 2018. And that's exactly where this post format comes in - 'Where Are They Now?'. I thought that at the end of every month this year, I'd got back through every previous Monthly Favourites post I've done for that particular month and see what I was loving and of course, whether I still like it or use it regularly now. Of course, first up is January - let's go...

2015 - January of this year was actually my very first Monthly Favourites post on this blog, ever! Back when the set-up was 'Loves and Lusts', in terms of what I was 'Loving' - I'd actually say that there are still some firm favourites in there. I still really like a couple of the Real Techniques Brushes from that set, we all know the Hand Food and Heel Genius from Soap and Glory are holy grails for me and though I may not use it regularly right now, their Solar Powder Bronzer remains one of my favourites from the drugstore. However, I would say there are definitely some products in there that aren't so much go-to's of mine anymore. Well, the Rimmel Lasting Finish Nude Foundation would still be, but has been discontinued (boo!), however the Collection Lasting Perfection Concealer has well and truly been replaced by my new fave - Revolution's Conceal and Define! I also no longer reach for the Soap and Glory Archery Brow Pencil when it comes to filling in my brows either. I still have a couple of the Rimmel Salon Pro Nail Polishes hanging around and enjoy them, but I believe they're no longer a 'thing', so I've kinda moved on and as for the Palmers Face Mask - I definitely liked it, but admittedly have not had it in my collection or used it for a long while. Once again, I guess I moved on to new, different things!

2016 - From 2016, I'd say there's still a lot of things in there that I love, just don't use as often nowadays. Rimmel's Magnif'Eyes Mono Shadow in 'Millionaire' is a gorgeous single bronze shimmer shadow, and their Kate Moss Shadow Stick in 'Rose Gold' is also a great single shadow (in a cream stick, this time) - I just don't use them as regularly now compared to how I used to. However, one favourite that has really stood the test of time is the L'Oreal Brow Artiste Plumper in 'Medium/Dark'. This is still my favourite brow gel - sets them into place, adds a tint of colour and some much-needed extra fullness too! From there, as you probably know, I really do love the lip liners from Rimmel, but since falling in love with their 1000 Kisses ones, I have definitely stayed away from my previous fave, their Exaggerate Lip Liners - meaning the shade 'Addiction' actually got cleared out of my collection a while back. A lovely shade, just not as convenient set-up.

2017 - This year's edition is a real mix of products I still really love - but then also some products I just don't use anymore. Having now properly gotten into and tried out so many different transparent loose powders since, the first I ever gave a go - Collection's Sheer Loose Powder - is no longer a go-to of mine at all and the same goes for Soap and Glory's Thick and Fast Mascara. I try out so many new mascaras all the damn time and so I guess it's no surprise that I have many other new favourites by now! I also haven't used the Tresemme Keratin Smooth Range on my hair in terms of Shampoo and Conditioner for ages. I did really enjoy them, but with my hair now so, so blonde I prefer to cater to that with my current OGX Platinum. However, that's not to say that this month doesn't have a few favourites thrown in there that still to this day, I really love - Sleek's Matte Me Lip Creams, the Real Techniques Brush Cleansing Palette, those cheap eye brushes I bought off Amazon - all good'un's that I still enjoy and most definitely reach for regularly in my routine...

2018 - Finally, we come to this time last year - 2018! And you know what? I actually still love and reach for pretty much every item featured in this one. I mean, I guess that's a good thing as it's only been a matter of 12 months since I was raving about them - but honestly, it's true. If I had to pick out anything, I suppose the Revolution Liquid Highlighter Drops aren't as much of a regular go-to of mine, but I do enjoy mixing a drop or two into my foundation every now and again and the Miss Sporty Really Me Matte To Last Lip Creams also aren't my go-to formula when it comes to liquid lipsticks, but I do like wearing them if I fancy something a little more lightweight...
