It's time for the third end-of-the-month update for my Project Pan 2020! But, before we get on with that, I just want to apologise for not being very active on round these parts in March. I've only done two posts across the whole month so far and it looks like I'll only be doing two more before the month is out - my usual end of the month round-ups for both my Project Pan and Monthly Favourites! Whilst I've of course been trying, using and loving all things beauty just the same as as usual behind the scenes, with everything that's been going on (especially these past couple of weeks) I just haven't felt like, or really had the motivation or head-space, to post. And I know that's OK, as I said in my first post of 2020 here that I would be dropping my regular schedule and only posting when I really wanted and needed to - but at the same time, I still definitely wanted to maintain posting constant content, and in March, that kinda failed! However, I am determined to get back into the swing of things in April - my name-sake month! Expect normal service to resume - at least in the sense of this blog. I hope you and your loved ones are all doing well (or at least, as well as you can in these circumstances) both physically and mentally. It's all a little bit crazy, isn't it? As a lot of people have been saying online, I have decided to continue posting as usual throughout it all, with my usual type of content that's mainly beauty-based, with a little bit of lifestyle thrown in for good measure. In a World that right now seems so uncertain, scary and 'not normal', I want to try and maintain as much 'normality' as possible here on Dainty Ditsy. Think of it as a welcome, kind of 'escape' from it all - even if it's only for a minute or so. And I think that's all I had to say, aside from the obvious which is - stay safe, stay inside and if that's not possible, practice social distancing! Because, the sooner we all do it and the more we all contribute to it, *hopefully* the sooner we can beat this and go back to how things used to be.
Onto the main subject of this whole post - my Project Pan - and as I mentioned, this is my March Update. Here, as usual, I will be updating you all on how it's all going. Of all of the products in there - what I've used and what I perhaps haven't - what products I've possibly used up entirely and I've said in both my introduction post here and also the first monthly recap for January here - these end of the month posts are basically where I'm going to be detailing how I've got on with each item currently in the project. Have I used and made any more progress on it? Have I maybe even used it up completely? What am I maybe adding in - or taking out? Plus, what other makeup have I used up in the month? Let's get started on February's Edition...
What I've Made Progress On...
- Revolution X Soph Extra Spice Palette - This palette remained a staple in my stash this month. I didn't try any new palettes in March, but asides from when I was maybe using other old favourites - the Extra Spice was what I reached for! I hit pan on another shade and made even deeper dips in others - I think I'm doing pretty well with this one...
- Revolution Conceal and Hydrate Foundation in 'F2' - Since introducing this into the project at the end of the last month, I feel I've made a decent progress on it. It's been the only foundation I've reached for in March (asides from the other foundation I've got in my Project Pan which I'll mention soon) and though the packaging makes it super difficult to actually see how much I've got left, I'm definitely going in the right direction!
- Rimmel Lasting Finish Concealer - This concealer is an everyday item for me when it comes to applying my makeup so naturally, I've made some more progress on it this month! So whilst it may be small, steady steps - it's certainly progress nonethless...
- Collection Lasting Perfection Weightless Foundation - If I wasn't reaching for the Conceal and Hydrate Foundation, this other base in my project was pretty much the only other foundation I was using this month! And you know what? I really feel like I'm nearing the end of this one too, so I'd hazard a guess that this will be in my 'What I've Used Up' section, in a month's time!
- Collection Primed and Ready Invisible Setting Powder - This is another product I use every time I apply my makeup and as a result, I've definitely got through some more of it this past month!
- Soap and Glory Solar Powder Bronzer - This was pretty much the only bronzer I reached for in the month of March - I'm really dedicated in trying to use it up soon! Unfortunately, that meant the other bronzer in this project remained untouched, but I'm sure that'll all change when I get through this one entirely, which hopefully won't be too long...
- Barry M Lip Scrub in 'Peppermint' - I use this lip scrub pretty regularly. Whether it be before applying my makeup, or before bed, or throughout the day if I've not got any makeup on - I've definitely made a deeper dip in it this month as a result!
- NYX Slim Lip Pencil in 'Natural' - I haven't used this lip liner a lot this month, but I've still reached for it at least a handful of times these past few weeks and the small nub that's left is only getting shorter - which is surely a good sign...
...And What I've Perhaps Not...
- MUA Bronzed Perfection Matte Bronzer - As I said, the bronzer from Soap and Glory remained my main priority this month, so I've still not made any progress on this one from MUA! However, with the pan in the Solar Powder only getting bigger every time I use it, I doubt it'll be long before I can finally turn my attentions solely onto this one!
- theBalm Mary Lou Manizer Luminizer - I've really fell back in love with a couple of old favourite highlighters this month, so this one remained untouched unfortunately! Hopefully next month I'll pick it back up again though, as we all know how much I adore this highlighter...
- MAC Lipstick in 'Patisserie' - I'm sorry to say that this lipstick has still remained utterly untouched! I don't know why I'm still to pick this product up, at all, since I started this Project Pan. I do love this lipstick and have clearly used a lot of it in the past, but for some reason I just don't find myself gravitating towards it and I'm unsure whether that will change anytime soon. So, I've decided to make this the first item that I am removing from the Project Pan 2020. I'm still really eager to start making more use out of this lipstick, but there's really no point in it staying in here if I'm not finding myself wanting to reach for it - especially when there could be another product in its place instead!
What I've Used Up...
- Rimmel Lasting Finish Primer - I finally used this face primer all up this past month! It remains one of my favourites and I already have a new one ready and waiting in the wings to open again, but for now I think I'll try to resist and see what others I have already open in my stash that I can get more use out of!
- Primark Skinny Brow Pencil in 'Tan' and 'Dark Brown' - Both shades that I use in this brow pencil completely rain out this month. The former is great for feathering the very front of my brows, whilst the latter is just perfect for creating more definition and depth towards the main bulk/arch/tail and the formula and finish of this pencil in general is just awesome, especially considering they're only £2 each! I think I've found another new fave in the MUA offering (which is basically the same thing and just as affordable too) so will be using that from now on (in two differing colours as usual) but if I ever need or want an alternative - I know Primark is where to go...
- Soap and Glory Thick and Fast Mascara - This was my last mascara I opened/used and this month, it all dried up! I did like this, but I didn't love it as much as other mascaras I've tried and used and so I don't know whether I'd repurchase it myself (this one was part of a gift-set).
- Barry M Dewy Finish Setting Spray - This setting spray finally got all used up this month! This was part of the original set of products I picked out for this project in January - so I'm pretty pleased it's now on its way out. Again, I do like this setting spray, but not as much as my beloved Urban Decay All Nighter and as a result, I only use it occasionally (unlike the All Nighter which I basically use all the damn time). So, it's been a slow and steady process but I've finally got there - yay! I wouldn't rule out a repurchase, but with the All Nighter being such a staple of mine, I don't know whether I really need to...
What I'm Adding In...
- I've actually decided that I'm not adding anything new into the Project Pan this month! I really feel I've got a good bunch of items already which give me more than enough to focus on for the month of April, so for now, I think I'm good. I'm sure this time, next month I'll likely have something (or things) to incorporate though, so don't worry about that...
