Remember this post I did earlier this month where I showed you all of the things I bought online at Revolution Beauty not too long ago? Well, since then, I've been testing and trying out everything - and I thought it was about time I told you all what I think!
I HEART REVOLUTION TASTY PEACH PALETTE - Let's start with this gorgeous palette! As I said in the original haul post, I have wanted to try an eyeshadow palette from I Heart Revolution for ages now. I've always eyed up their infamous Chocolate Bar Palettes, but have never managed to settle on one which I loved and wanted to pick up and give a go. However, then their recent Fruity/Food-Themed Range and the newest addition to that collection, the Tasty Peach Palette came along and I finally knew it was time to give their format and formula a try! As the name most likely suggests, this palette is packed-full of super pretty warm tones and all in all - I am so super happy with it so far! Not only is the colour scheme just gorgeous and really easy to create diverse but also cohesive looks with and the formula and quality of the shadows themselves is pretty good too! The mattes are well-pigmented and blend easily; whilst the shimmers are so creamy, intense and foiled-like! I do find the shimmers apply best with a fingertip as they don't seem to pick up as well with a flat brush (even if it's dampened), however, that's really not a problem as once you use a finger they apply so well and with no issues at all! Obviously, if I'm doing a softer look (with no cut crease, halo eye or any of that kinda business), that works just fine but if I am doing more detail-work, I'll simply use my finger to get the pigment on the main area and then take a flat brush to either pick up just enough to define the edges or just spread the product out. And I love the finished result! So, all in all, I really love this palette, will definitely carry on using it when I want to go for this kind of colour scheme and would certainly now consider trying more palettes from I Heart Revolution in the future...
REVOLUTION PRO SCULPTING BRONZER IN 'BAHIA' - I know, I know - I really didn't need a new bronzer - what with me having two currently in my Project Pan 2020 and also just a lot of others in my general collection that I enjoy and am trying to rotate between - but, I just couldn't help but pick this one up. Sometimes, finding a good drugstore/affordable bronzer can be a bit of a minefield, so I guess whenever one comes along that does look promising - I tend to feel the need to try it out! And so far, I'm pretty pleased I did so with this one from Revolution Pro. The lightest shade of the collection, this colour just works perfectly for me! Not too light, not too dark and it's got a really lovely undertone to it too. It's warm, but not at all orangey at the same time - it just gives such a 'natural' looking, bronzey warmth to the skin! It's completely matte (which is always my preferred type of bronzer), although it doesn't look dry or 'flat on the skin at the same time - perhaps due to the fact it's supposedly infused with Cocoa Extract - and another benefit of it being so smooth in texture is that it really does blend like a dream. This bronzer is well-pigmented, but soon diffuses out and can be built up or sheered out as you like it - the perfect mix of both worlds! Also, with it being fully shimmer-free, just as the name suggests, it really does help give more structure to the face - especially when used in the traditional 3-shape bronzer application where you take it on your temples, down to your cheeks and then down your jawline and neck! All in all, this is another firm favourite from this haul...
MAKEUP OBSESSION FLUFFY BROWS FIBRE BROW GEL IN 'ASH BROWN' - Although I definitely have my favourites when it comes to brow gels, I do like to try new ones to see if there's any others that are just as good or maybe even better! This one from Makeup Obsession caught my eye when making this online order and I had to give it a go. It basically ticks all the boxes for me - a brow gel that's tinted and has fibres in the formula too - so I had a feeling it might work out well. And all in all, I quite like it. I have to admit that the colour is a little off for me as it more or less matches my brow colour identically and I always like to go a shade darker with my brow gels, but that aside - this is really nice! It keeps my brows in place all day long, adds a nice tint of colour and there's definitely fibres in there that help add some extra fullness and 'bushy-ness' to my brows too! I will carry on using this (maybe I could use it more so for the front of my brows where I do prefer them lighter and then use one of my usual favourites that's darker on the arch/tail of my brows) and I feel like I would buy it again if I fancied a change from my usual go-to, but I would definitely pick up a slightly darker colour next time!
MAKEUP OBSESSION SO BALM LIP BALM IN 'MOJITO' - I was so super excited to give this lip balm a try! Obviously, I was mainly excited for the scent/flavour - with Mojito being my favourite cocktail and all that - but I was actually really intrigued about the formula too! After loving the Revolution Pro Supreme Lip Relief so much, I had pretty high hopes about this one and all in all, I do quite like it! I have to admit I am a little disappointed with the 'flavour' side of things as it's quite subtle and not overly noticeable, but it is still definitely there and I am still really pleased with the formula! It really is almost identical to the Supreme Lip Relief - a super thick consistency that melts into almost an oil-type texture once you apply it to the lips. It glides on smoothly, sinks in really easily and leaves them feeling so soft and so much more hydrated and as a result, a little more plump too - which is always a bonus, right? It works perfectly before makeup to hydrate my lips before lip products, to apply throughout the day if I'm not wearing makeup or as an overnight treatment - I really like it! Yes, the scent could be a little more intense but the formula is so good that I don't mind as much - I know it'll still become a new staple lip balm of mine!
REVOLUTION SATIN KISS LIP LINERS IN 'CUPCAKE', 'CUTIE', 'DECADENCE' AND 'RUBY' - Another lip-related inclusion comes in the form of these lip liners! As you prob ably know already, I love myself a good lip liner and am always up for trying new ones - especially when they're as affordable as these newbies from Revolution! Having had so much success in the past with lip products from the brand, I had pretty high hopes - and I'm pleased to report that I was not proven wrong! These are so creamy and glide onto the lips so smoothly and fully pigmented with hardly any pressure required, yet at the same time - they've got enough of a hard, waxy quality that allows both a completely controlled application and also a finish that stays put all day long! As I said in the original haul post, I stuck with brighter, bolder colours initially as I'm pretty overrun with nude lip liners and could instead do with bulking up my colourful lip liner department but as I've enjoyed these so much, I'd definitely consider picking up some of the more neutral colours in the future...
REVOLUTION SKINCARE X JAKE JAMIE STRAWBERRY DONUT FACE MASK - Finally - we have this face mask! As I said, I have been wanting to try a face mask from the Jake Jamie collaboration for ages and finally, this Strawberry Donut one recently swayed me. The scent sounds pretty yummy of course, but not only that, when you look into it the mask itself - that too seems rather good! Smoothing, hydrating, slightly exfoliating - basically everything I look for in a good face mask. And you know what? It does exactly that! This cream-like texture is super easy to apply to the skin, it does dry down slightly but not completely so and removes easily with a damp flannel. My skin is left feeling so super soft, smooth and supple and with such a gorgeous 'inner glow' type appearance! What more could you ask for, eh?
