August: The Love List

August is nearly at its end and it's time, once again, to talk through all of my beauty favourites! I have a lot of products to talk through this month - I've tried a lot of new things these last few weeks - so think we better get straight into it...

BEAUTY BAY WILDERNESS PALETTE - Beauty Bay have quickly become one of my favourite brands for good quality, but also affordable eyeshadow palettes. I've got all of the palettes they've released in this 20 pan set-up so far and have loved them all - so picking up this most recent released was a no brainer for me! As the name suggests, this palette is packed full of greens, blues, reds and warm tones. The perfect Autumnal palette! And not only does it looks stunning, it also works pretty beautifully on the eyes too. The mattes apply and blend like a dream, the shimmers are super creamy and though require a fingertip or damp brush to get them to adhere on the eyes - once they do, they're super intense, shimmery and reflective! I've been really happy with the looks I've done with this so far...

BH COSMETICS TRENDY IN TOKYO PALETTE - Another palette I've loved this month is this one from BH! As soon as I saw MakeMeUpMissa using this palette I knew I wanted to pick it up - and especially when I saw it on offer on Beauty Bay! I also really love the palettes from BH - again, the ones in this square format - so I was hoping for good things and luckily, this doesn't disappoint! A bright, rainbow-inspired palette, the mattes in here are really impressive. Pigmented, blendable and combine together really nicely. The shimmers in here aren't the same as in other palettes in this range - they're more dry, less shimmery and pigmented - which is a shame. However, the stunning mattes (both in tone and texture) more than make up for them!

TECHNIC SMOKEY MATTE PALETTE - MakeMeUpMissa has been loving this cheap little palette from Technic to do a black smokey eye for a while and finally, I went over to Amazon and picked it up - and I'm so happy I did! This is full of matte greys - ranging from super dark to super light - and not only are they really pigmented, they blend like a dream. For a good black smokey eye, I simply add in a matte black from any palette that has one that I enjoy and gradually buff it out going from the deepest grey in this palette, to one of the lighter hues and I really like the look!

...A WHOLE HOST OF PENCIL LINERS! - I've been loving a lot of pencil liners this month for popping in my waterline for various eye looks - from LA Girl to NYX, Essence to Barry M. As long as it's pigmented, creamy and lasts a good while in the waterline without fading, I'm here for it...

GLISTEN COSMETICS WET LINERS IN 'STRAWBERRY' AND 'ORANGEADE' - This brand has always been raved about for their water activated liners so when I saw they'd started being stocked on Beauty Bay, I added a couple into my basket to give a go! I really enjoy wet liners for adding detail to my eye looks (or simply doing winged liner in different colours!) and these ones are pretty good too! Simply wet a liner brush, mix it into the pan until you get enough liner on your brush and you're good to go. These liners are pigmented, glide on easily and they dry really nicely too - they don't bleed, crack or fade throughout the day!

COLLECTION LASTING PERFECTION STRETCH CONCEALER IN 'EXTRA FAIR' - I always like to have a pot concealer in my stash for when I need some extra coverage in specific areas and the one I normally use from Rimmel has been discontinued and I've just finished up my last pot! So, I went on the hunt for a new one from another brand and came across this from Collection (plus another from another brand below!). This concealer is really creamy, picks up super easily with a brush and is pretty pigmented too. A little goes a real long way with this! It blends in no time and sits on the skin nicely - I really like it!

REVOLUTION CONCEAL AND FIX ULTIMATE CONCEALER IN 'LIGHT SAND' - And I've also really been liking this pot concealer too! Same as the Collection, this stuff is really concentrated and pigmented and a little goes a long way. It buffs and blends into the skin easily and once set down, lasts all day long!

RIMMEL HIGH'LIGHT HIGHLIGHTER IN 'STARDUST' - It's been a long, long while since I bought anything new from Rimmel to try, but for some reason, their new range of highlighters caught my eye recently. I picked up the lightest shade (it's not stark, icy white - more of a light golden champagne - but still works really well for my skin-tone) and have been trying it out this month - and I really like it! It's definitely a powder format, but it's got this super creamy texture that's almost bouncy and putty-like in the pan. And I guess that's perhaps what makes it apply so smooth and seamlessly on the skin. It's super glowy and intense, but at the same time doesn't have any chunky glitter or shimmer - just a nice, wet-look glow. I love it!

BEAUTY BAY MATTE LIPSTICK IN 'SMILE' - I already love another nude lipstick from Beauty Bay (shade 'Freckle') but this recent one they launched caught my eye. It's slightly warmer in undertone - though still being very brown-based - and so works well in instants where 'Freckle' may not so much. The formula is just the same as before - super creamy, glides onto the lips with ease and yet has a nice, demi-matte finish that's comfortable - yet pretty well long-lasting at the same time!

BPERFECT SUPREME VELVET BRIGHTS LIQUID LIPSTICKS - I bought a few of these new-ish liquid lipsticks from BPerfect recently with some bright, bold lip looks in mind - but they're also perfect for using as eyeliners or for detail work too! So far, I've just used them on the lips but I'm really enjoying them so far. They apply onto the lips super liquidy, but quickly set down to a powdery matte finish that manages to be pretty comfortable and lightweight, yet still completely shine-free and virtually transfer-proof! All of these shades I picked up are fully pigmented and opaque in one layer and they look very smooth and velvety (just as the name suggests) on the lips too...

URBAN DECAY ALL NIGHTER GLOW SETTING SPRAY - It's no secret that I love the original All Nighter Setting Spray. It's been my holy grail, go-to setting spray for years now and so, when this 'Glow' Edition got released a while back - I knew I had to pick it up to give it a whirl. I was waiting for my current classic All Nighter bottle to finish up before I cracked open this one - hence why it's only now I'm testing it out - but it's been more than worth the wait. This works just as well as the original at setting my makeup into place - settling any powdery finish and locking things in all day and night long - but the handy addition of adding a slight extra glow to the complexion too! Don't worry, there's no glitter or shimmer to be seen, it just makes your skin look a little extra sheen-ey...

BARRY M GELLY HI-SHINE NAIL PAINTS IN 'HOT CHILLI' AND 'PINK PUNCH' - I was in need of a couple new polishes - a classic red and a classic pink - and of course, I went straight to Barry M to find them! If in doubt, they're always the brand I go to if I have a particular colour in mind. 'Hot Chilli' is the perfect classic red that's not too deep, nor too bright and 'Pink Punch' is a super pretty, Barbie-esque hot pink! Both exactly what I was after - and as usual with Barry M polishes, the quality is spot-on. Opaque in two coats, dries down quickly and with a good top coat - my nails are super shiny and last well without chipping!

BARRY M CRYSTAL ROCKS NAIL PAINT IN 'CORAL SUNSTONE' - I also bought this from one of my favourite formulas of theirs, the Crystal Rocks Range! These super shimmery polishes quickly dry down to almost a solid, matte glitter finish that's really textured. I always like to apply a top coat to seal things into place and make the finish slightly more shiny and smooth - done! This colour has always stood out to me but I just never got round to adding it to my collection, until now. A warm, coral orange with golden shimmer running through it. Cause, yes, it may be the end of August and Summer may nearly be over for another year - but that doesn't mean our nails can't carry on with the Summery vibes...

FUDGE DAMAGE REPAIR SHAMPOO AND CONDITIONER - Having highlighted blonde hair, taking good care of it is very important to me. Not only through keeping the colour in good shape through purple shampoos, but also through ensuring my hair is as healthy and hydrated as possible! I was after a new shampoo and conditioner to use when I don't want to tone my hair in anyway and having had such good success with the Fudge Purple Shampoo and Conditioner, I went straight back to the brand for a 'plain' version! And this duo is just perfect. My hair is left feeling and looking super soft, smooth and supple and styles easily too. And the yummy scent is a pretty good bonus aswell...

L'OREAL PURE CLAY GLOW FACE MASK - I used to really like this face mask, but after my last tub I moved onto other brands. However, I decided to go back to it recently and remembered just why I liked it so much! This has little 'scrubby' grains in it which, as you remove it, gently buff away dead skin cells and leave your skin feeling and looking smoother and softer! It's still really careful and not aggravating on the skin though. So, as a result, your skin definitely appears more glowy afterwards - yay!

So there we have it - my August Favourites! Let me know in the comments what you've been enjoying this month, I'd love to know...
