Basically ever since I tried out the brand new Revolution Conceal and Define Full Coverage Foundation earlier this month (as you would have seen in this post here), it has been all I've used - and frankly, even wanted to use - foundation-wise. I. Am. Obsessed. With that, I guess I've kind of got myself a new base routine for most days and seeing how in love with it I've been, I figured - why not share it with you lovely lot? Let's get started...
As I mentioned in my original review of the foundation, it works perfectly well both with and without a face primer underneath so some days I might stick with my usual day cream (Superdrug's Naturally Radiant Day Cream, FYI) but if I do decide to prime, I use my usual Rimmel Lasting Finish Primer. This just gives such a nice base - making my face feel hydrated and plump and smoothing things out a little - and it leaves behind a slightly tacky reside that helps makeup adhere and last well too. Then, of course, comes the main star of the show right now - the foundation. I use the shade 'F1' and apply this using my damp Real Techniques Miracle Complexion Sponge and I'm good to go. If you want more in-depth details about this foundation and why I adore it so, you can read my full review here! I've also been using the matching concealer religiously again ever since basically - now that their new Supersize Conceal and Define Concealer has been released. Finally, the same, awesome concealer - in a bigger, hopefully-longer-lasting tube! I use the shade 'C1' and just apply this in all of my usual places I need a little extra coverage like under my eyes and on my chin (though, to be honest, the foundation does probably the best job any foundation I've tried before at doing that by itself!) - and blend it in, again, with the same beauty sponge. I also add a little extra coverage, if needed, on any areas of stubborn blemishes with my Rimmel Lasting Finish Concealer in '10 Porcelain'. To set this all into place, I use a light dusting of my faithful Collection Primed and Ready Invisible Setting Powder (as I said, this foundation doesn't require a tonne of powder all over to be fully set into place) and 'bake' my usual areas - again, under my eyes and also around my smile lines - with my Lottie London Ready, Set! Go Translucent Finishing Powder in 'True Translucent'. Once I've 'baked' (a.k.a. left this powder to sit on those areas for a few minutes or so) - in which time I'll usually do my brows or something like that - I'll gently dust it off and I'm good to go with the rest of my makeup!
And that's my current, everyday/most days/whatever-you-want-to-call-it base routine! So far it's working pretty damn well and every time, I'm completely in love with the finished result. I really do think this foundation will be my part of this line-up for a long time to come...
How amazing is the Superdrug Naturally Radiant range though??!!!
