Welcome back to a brand new feature on my blog - 'Where Are They Now?' Favourites! This time last month, I decided to add this series to Dainty Ditsy for 2019 and I'd say it does exactly what it says on the tin. Basically, I round-up every monthly favourites post from that particular month (so for example, this month is of course February), for the past however many years I've done them on my blog and see - what do I think of each product now? Do I still love it? Has it been forgotten about in place of a new go-to? Let's find out...
- I have to admit, 2015 is a bit of a 'fail'. For the most part, aside from a couple of products, most things I featured aren't so much firm favourites now. Aussie's 3 Minute Miracle Reconstructor is still obviously a holy grail and I'm still a big lover for Real Techniques Brushes (again, obvs), but apart from that, everything else isn't so much a go-to of mine anymore...
- 2016 is definitely a little more successful I feel! There's a couple of things that whilst I'm not using right now, I still really love - such as Collection's Primed and Ready Rose Primer and Supersize Mascara and Maybelline's Color Tattoos and I'm also still very much a fan of Barry M's Gelly Nail Paint in 'Acai Smoothie', though I'm obviously not using that colour regularly again just yet, with Spring round the corner! There are a few things that I have kinda fell out of love with - such as the Collection Illuminating Eye Primer and Maybelline Master Drama The Nudes Eye Pencil, but for the most part, there's still some definite good'un's in there. Oh and of course, how can we forget Ardell's Demi Wispies! Still to this day one of my all-time favourite styles of false lashes.
- I definitely feel this year's edition contains some real favourites. NYX's Blush in 'Taupe', for example. is still my go-to contour product now! I also still absolutely adore the Barry M Matte Me Up Lip Kits and the Collection Velvet Kiss Lip Creams too. I also still have the Barry M Nail Paint in 'Beachy Keen' in my collection and really enjoy using it in the Spring/Summer months, so am looking forward to getting that back out again soon. There's a couple in here that I still would recommend, but don't currently own in my stash - like the Rimmel Insta Fix and Go Setting Spray, the L'Oreal Infallible 24HR Foundation and their Volume Million Lashes Mascara too. I still own the MUA 'Burning Embers' Eyeshadow Palette and still do really like it, but admittedly I don't use it as regularly now I've since discovered so many others. All in all, I guess the only real thing I'd say I don't enjoy so much now is the Soap and Glory 'Glow All Out' Cheek Stick. I don't generally get as much use out of cream and liquid highlighters compared to powders and if I do, I have other cream glow-givers that I've come to prefer to this one.
- Finally, we come to my last February Monthly Favourites (before my next post, which will be 2019's Edition, of course) - 2018! There's definitely a couple of things that are still firm favourites - like the Rimmel Stay Matte Liquid Lip Colour in 'Be My Baby' and Revolution Rose Gold Lipstick in 'Chauffeur' - both gorgeous nude lip colours that I still reach for regularly! I also still love the Eco Tools Spoolie Brush - random, but a real great handy brush in my collection that I use everyday when doing my brows. However, there are admittedly a couple that have kinda slipped through the net in my stash over the past 12 months. My go-to base combo of the time (Maybelline Dream Satin Liquid Foundation and the Revolution Liquid Highlighter) is now no more, both due to me moving onto new foundations since and my bottle of the foundation from Maybelline now all gone. I also have kinda stopped using is theBalm's Mary Dew Manizer. I love the original powder version but over time I have come to realise that the liquid version, not so much. The colour just isn't as perfect for me and the formula is not my favourite when it comes to liquid highlighters. Moving away from Makeup, I actually used up my Zoella Beauty Sweet Inspirations 'Double Creme' Body Cream not too long ago - so of course, that's not a go-to of mine anymore - but I still really like and use the Nip + Fab Glycolic Instant Fix Mask pretty regularly as a kind of 'treatment' mask when I have the occasional spot or breakout. It really helps to clear things up nicely!
