It's coming up to the end of April - already, I know - and so, it's time once again to look back at all of my favourites from previous years and see just whether I still love (or even still use) them or not! For each particular month, or course - so obviously this time around, we're looking at all of my past favourites for the month of April. if you're new to this series, feel free to catch up here, but for now - let's get started...
- Considering this is the oldest post, I actually think it was a pretty successful one looking back on it now! If you read my last post, you'll know that I'm still absolutely love the Maybelline Lash Sensational Mascara. An oldie, but goldie that still to this day I come back to when I need an awesome mascara that I already know and love. I also still love and use the Rimmel Lasting Finish Primer too. On and off, again, but I've actually currently got it in rotation in my collection right now - and I love it! Then also from Rimmel, I also still really enjoy their Lasting Finish Concealer and use it almost every day for fixing any makeup mistakes - whether that be cleaning up my brows, lip liner, whatever. I also still really love the Barry M Sunset Nail Polishes - the Top Coat in particular is possibly one of, if not my favourite top coat of all time. I even still really like wearing Rimmel's 60 Seconds Nail Polish in 'Tangerine Tent' on my nails a lot every time Summer comes around! So, basically the only two picks from this edition that I don't really love or use anymore are the Seventeen Eye Kohl (I decluttered it a while ago and the brand itself is also sadly now discontinued)...
- Ah, now this one is slightly more of a mixed bag. Nails-wise, I still really love L'Oreal's Color Riche A L'Huile Nail Polish in 'Cherie Macaron' and use it a lot every Spring/Summer; whilst Barry M's Speedy Nail Paint in 'Freestyle' I actually got rid of in my declutter as I found I wasn't getting a tonne of use out of it anymore. Similarly, I haven't used Rimmel's Match Perfection Concealer in years. Though I liked it, over time, as new concealers have released I've found better options! The same goes for their Brow This Way Brow Highlighter too. I just never reached for this over my regular highlighter I was using or any highlighting shade in the palette I was using at the time so that one soon fell off the radar unfortunately. L'Oreal's Telescopic Mascara, though I'm not using it right now, is still one I really like and would happily go back to again at some point - and recommended to all of you lovely lot - whilst the last two makeup additions in this post are honestly, complete no-go's for me anymore. Rimmel's Kate Sculpting Palette just isn't a favourite of mine (I much prefer separate products for cheeks) and Bourjois' Rouge Edition Souffle De Velvet in 'Fuschiamallow' again, just isn't one I reach for as much anymore. You know what it's like with lip products - there's so many options it's pretty easy to move on and change things up! And that also applies to the OGX Argan Oil Range. You all know I still love OGX for my Haircare, but right now my favourite collection has to be their Lavender one. Perfect for my now much more super-blonde locks! Then, we come to the final two products of this post, which are much more successful - I still love and use the Real Techniques Duo Fibre Contour Brush for contouring and Soap and Glory's Sugar Crush Buttercream is another favourite that I'm not using right now, but always come back to bodycare-wise!
- 2017 was definitely more successful looking back, I feel. Though my GHD Platinum Rose Gold Styler unfortunately died a sad death a little while ago (after a solid two years of a lot of use though!), my new original Black one is just as awesome. I also still really like Tresemme's Keratin Smoother Range. Though I mainly use my OGX Lavender Range and a purple shampoo, every so often I'll go back to a 'regular' shampoo and the Keratin Smooth is usually the one I'll reach for first. And, talking of purple shampoo - my favourite that I mentioned here is still my go-to to this day! Lee Stafford's Bleach Blondes Purple Shampoo is. the. one! The L'Oreal Studio Line Hot and Straight Spray, whilst I loved it, is also no longer available so I've moved onto other heat protecting sprays. I also no longer use (or even own I don't think) my Barry M Frosted Cupcakes Nail Polish in 'Marshmallow' and now my skin seems to be a lot better all of time these days, the Boots Tea Tree and Witch Hazel Range isn't one I've purchased from in a little while. I still really like the Real Techniques Expert Concealer Brush for applying a thick, pot concealer on any blemishes if I do have them though! Sleek's 'Cleopatra's Kiss Highlighting Palette isn't my go-to anymore - I much prefer the lighter shade selection of 'Solstice' for my paler skin-tone and I actually decluttered the Revolution Flawless 3 'Resurrection' Eyeshadow Palette a while ago too. I love Revolution, but you have to admit that their newer palettes from the last couple of years are now so much better than older ones like this! However, the most of the rest of this edition is pretty good to this day! Zoella Beauty's 'Pretty Polished' Body Scrub is still one of my favourite body scrubs (though will soon be discontinued - boo!), I still adore my Shadow Switch for quickly changing colours on eye brushes and as we've already established - Maybelline's Lash Sensational Mascara is awesome. I also still love the two lip products in here - both NYX's Soft Matte Lip Cream in 'Abu Dhabi' and their Lip Liner in 'Cashmere Silk' are great. I love both of these ranges in general too!
- So, finally, we come to 2018! This time last year I was loving a much smaller selection of products than the year before (thank goodness) but I'd still say there are some favourites in there which stand to this day. Collection's Lash Surge Mascara is still an awesome one which, like Lash Sensational, I sometimes come back to when in need of one I already know and love; whilst the L'Oreal Back To Bronze Bronzer remains one of my top drugstore bronzers of all time. I'm currently working my way through my CYO one, but will happily come back to this again soon! Tanya Burr Cosmetics Illuminating Powder in 'Champagne Sorbet' is a tricky one as I love it so much, but now the brand is no more (boo!) I don't really use it all that often as I want to save it for as long as possible. Like I said, I do still love it though! I also still really enjoy the Barry M Molten Metal Nail Paints that I featured in here too. I mean, is anyone really surprised by that though? We all know by now that the Molten Metals are probably one of, if not my favourite range of polishes! Admittedly, I don't get as much use out of the L'Oreal Color Riche Shine Lipstick in 'MLBB' or the Collection Glam Crystals Liquid Eyeshadow in '01 Aura' right now - though I still really like them - so overall, a pretty successful month as for what I was obsessed with this time last year!
