Tried and Tested: BPerfect X Stacey Marie Carnival Love Tahiti Palette

It's no secret that I adore the eyeshadow palettes from BPerfect. And it all started off with the original Carnival Palette they released in collaboration with makeup artist Stacey Marie! Not long later, they released the Carnival XL Pro - which I also fell in love with - and after my huge success with those two palettes, I also ended up adding the Clientele Palette (which was another collab, this time with MakeupByJah) and surprise, surprise - that too became another staple in my collection! Over the last few months, BPerfect had been teasing us with the fact they were teaming up with Stacey Marie again - this time, for Carnival 3 - and I just knew I had to pick it up, as soon as it became available. And finally, last month, it did! Once safely in my hands, I decided to hold off just a little so I could dedicate most of this month to testing and trying it out. So, here's my thoughts...

This palette retails at £36.95 - so slightly cheaper than the previous palette, the Carnival XL Pro - and I'd hazard a guess at that being because this is also a slightly smaller palette. You get the exact same number of shadows (40), but of course the XL Pro did also come with three highlighters too, hence why the palette was that bit bigger and also, more expensive! Both palettes are pretty awesome value though, right?

So, this palette is solely shadow-based and as always with the Carnival Family - it's bright, bold and colourful! This palette is also unlike the XL Pro in that it includes no repeat, identical shades. They're all brand new colours! And whilst there does appear to be some similar shades in the new Love Tahiti, in my opinion there are no completely identical colours - asides from the black. And what I really love about the Love Tahiti is all of the new, different tones that made it feel like such a good expansion on the XL Pro. Clearly, this is a classic rainbow palette but when you delve a little deeper you see there's a real focus on those gorgeous earthy tones, warm brights and such a variety of rich, berry colours too. As tends to be the theme with the Carnival Series, the palette is majority matte, with a few shimmers dotted about for good measure. And in this palette, you actually get a few different formulas when it comes to the shimmers too - from your classic metallics, to duo-chrome pressed pigments, to high pigment shimmers. It's also worth mentioning that some of the mattes in this palette are pressed pigments too - meaning that you might get some slight staining from selected shades in this palette and a tacky, 'wet' base is the best place to start when it comes to creating a bangin' eye look!

As I mentioned, I have been testing out this palette for a good few weeks now, creating various different looks and so far - surprise, surprise - I adore it. Once again, BPerfect and Stacey Marie have utterly smashed this release and created yet another awesome, gorgeous palette! It wholly matches up to the same, high quality of the two previous Carnival Palettes and the formula is just as good, if not even better. The mattes are all so pigmented and opaque, adhere to the eyes with no issues at all and blend out and together like a dream. No patchiness, no harsh lines, nothing. There is some slight kick-up in the pan and fall-out on face when applying, but that tends to be the case with most, if not all palettes nowadays and as long as the pigment and - as I always say - as long as the quality is there, it never bothers me. And boy, is the quality here with this palette. The shimmers are all stunning - most apply best with your fingertip or a dampened brush, but again that is not a problem as they have so much potential and I can simply go all in with my fingertip if I'm doing a less-structured look, or follow up with a brush to get closer to the edges if I'm doing a cut crease or halo eye. I especially love the duo chrome shimmers as they all have such a gorgeous shift to them - so eye catching and interesting, depending on what shadows you pair them with and how they catch the light!

So, all in all, I think it's safe to say I just love, love, LOVE this eyeshadow palette. Just as I thought and hoped, it has become yet another favourite and one I can see staying in my collection, being continually reached for and played with - probably forevermore. I am so inspired by the gorgeous colour scheme. It's like your classic rainbow palette, but with such interesting, unique tones and finishes that just give it that something extra - you know? I've created so many looks so far and cannot wait to carry on playing and experimenting some more. I'm also so happy to now have this to use alongside my XL Pro too, as I really feel they're perfect companion palettes that I can see working together so well, opening up even more possibility of different looks and colour combinations! If you haven't picked this palette up and you love colourful looks like I do, I highly suggest you give this one a closer look. And, perhaps if you already have the XL pro and you're possibly thinking 'Do I really need this one too?' - You kinda do...
