Summer Nail Polish Picks - Take Two...

You may remember around this time last year, I did this post here, detailing a dew (ten, to be exact) of my favourite nail polishes for the Summer months. I really liked giving a run-down and really editing things down into my favourites, favourites - and hopefully you all did too - so here I am one year on, with the same format, but of course this time with a slightly different selection of shades. Admittedly, some are the same (yanno, long-term faves and all that) but there's definitely been a few changes so without any further ado, shall we just get started? Spoiler Alert - A lot of these are by one brand (and I'm sure you can all guess who)...

BARRY M SPEEDY QUICK DRY NAIL PAINT IN 'DEAD HEAT' - In the Summer, I actually really enjoy a good red polish. It may not be a 'typical' type of colour for the warmer months, but for me, red is a classic all-year-round and I definitely have a certain favourite for the Spring/Summer. This is a gorgeous, bright-, blue-toned red that, personally, just screams 'Summer Red' and is super flattering to wear too. SEE IT IN ACTION HERE.

L'OREAL COLOUR RICHE A L'HUILE NAIL POLISH IN 'CHERIE MACARON' - Another brief break from all of the Barry M inclusions comes in the form of this beauty from L'Oreal. It's a difficult colour to really pin down - kinda pinky, kinda orangey, kinda red - but it's a stunning hue nevertheless and combined with the fact it's also scented (yes, really!) this has been a firm winner for the Summer months in the past and I just know it will remain so this year too. SEE IT IN ACTION HERE.

BARRY M MOLTEN METAL NAIL PAINT IN 'HOLOGRAPHIC SUNBURST' - A newbie to this line-up that I only bought a couple of months ago - and have been obsessed with ever since - is another great one from Barry M. Their Molten Metals are one of my favourite lines they've ever released and I'm so happy I now have two shades that I can wear for the Sumner - this being one of them. It's holographic, but with a pinky-coral base and golden flecks running through it and it. is. so. stunning. On the nails, it's super eye-catching and pretty and I feel the combination of the colour scheme with the holographic base would make this especially awesome for nights out or evening events in the Summer... SEE IT IN ACTION HERE.

MAYBELLINE SUPERSTAY 7 DAYS NAIL POLISH IN 'NUDE ROSE' - Although I do love to experiment with colour on my nails, especially so in the Summer, you cannot go wrong with a nice, pinky-nude -  and that's exactly what we have here. Sometimes, I do like to go for something a little more 'classic', and for the Summer, this is just what I would reach for. It's still got that hint of feminine rosey colour that gives off those Summer vibes, but with a dusky, muted undertone that's just so easy to wear and flattering. SEE IT IN ACTION HERE.

BARRY M SPEEDY QUICK DRY NAIL PAINT IN 'IN A HEARTBEAT' - If I still want something pastel-inspired, but this time, more on the 'colourful' end of the spectrum - this is what I reach for. Another pale pink, but with a coral-tinged twist - I love this colour. The warm, orange-y undertone just screams 'Summer' and the quick-dry formula makes this a great option for if you want to quickly whack some colour on your nails before going out in the sunshine.

BARRY M COCONUT INFUSION NAIL PAINT IN 'FLIP FLOP' Orange is a colour that I don't tend to reach for much on my nails, apart from the Spring/Summer. As I said, during the Summer I'm usually all for experimenting and wearing different colours and generally going brighter on my nails (much like how in the Autumn/Winter I'm all about deeper, richer shades) and orange is certainly a colour that fits that bill. I've worn and loved a tonne of orange-y polishes over the years but last year I found this one from Barry M's newest Coconut Infusion Range and I feel I may have found 'The One' as it's remained a favourite for the next Summer. This is such a vibrant, intense orange - it almost appears neon-ish on the nails. Wanna look like you've scribbled the orange highlighter on your nails? Look no further, this is awesomeSEE IT IN ACTION HERE.

BARRY M GELLY HI-SHINE NAIL PAINT IN 'ACAI SMOOTHIE' - Moving onto the Purples, I just had to throw this one in there somewhere. Again, the Gelly Nail Paints are another favourite Barry M formula of mine for when you want a traditional creme polish, but with a super shiny, gel-like finish and this colour is such a beautiful dusky pinky-purple that's not too pale and washed-out (something I personally like in my polishes and sometimes find hard to come by). It's so different to anything I've seen before and though colourful, it's pretty easy to wear. SEE IT IN ACTION HERE.

BARRY M MOLTEN METAL NAIL PAINT IN 'HOLOGRAPHIC ROCKET' - The second of new Molten Metal Nail Paints from Barry M that I picked up recently and can already imagine myself using religiously this Summer - this time, we have more of a purple-based holographic lacquer. This is very much a 'true', mid-toned kind of purple that I personally love and this time, there's more of a cool-toned vibe than 'Holographic Sunburst', with more flecks of silver and blue running through. Again, totally unique in my collection and one I can see myself wearing a tonne these next few months. SEE IT IN ACTION HERE.

BARRY M COCONUT INFUSION NAIL PAINT IN 'LAGUNA' - Blues are another colour family that I especially love in the Summer - with the paler, pastel baby blues, to the brighter, mid-tones - and this one sits perfectly in the middle of those two. It's a beautiful, bright sky blue and not only is the colour super-pretty, I also find it really flattering on my skin-tone personally. It kinda makes me look more tanned - if that's even possible - and I certainly ain't complaining... SEE IT IN ACTION HERE.
BARRY M NAIL PAINT IN 'PURE SUNSHINE' - Finally, a glitter! Like I always say, you cannot go wrong with a bit of the sparkly stuff on your nails and though I do generally tend to go properly 'in' over Christmas/New Years (like most people), I can't help but use it all year long and this one is just perfect for the Summer, in my opinion. A light, pearly gold; if you're in the mood for adding a bit of glitter to your nail look over the Summer, this would make for a great, versatile option. Plus, with hidden flecks of silver and green, it'd look totally different depending on what you place underneath. And we all love a multi-tasker, right?
