For what has quickly become 'Christmas Nails Thursday' on this year's #DitsyDecember, this week I thought I'd simply show you some of my older, favourite festive nail looks and perhaps give you all some inspiration for this year! Spoiler Alert: This post features a lot of glitter...
First up, we have Red and Gold! I've done a variety of red based nail looks throughout the years - from pure rouge, to something more glittery. I've also done a selection of gold goodness too - you really can't go wrong with it, whether you choose a more yellow-toned gold or perhaps opt for something more icy in tone! Champagne is also another similar tone which keeps the festive feel, but is perhaps less 'traditional' than true gold - I love this polish I used here! And then, I've also combined the two together a couple of times too - once where I've layered red over gold and another time when I layered gold over red!
If you want another classic festive colour - try Green! Green nails aren't something I always go for, but Christmas is when I make an exception. I also really enjoyed last week's look where I layered gold glitter over a more maroon-toned red to keep things festive, but in a more subdued way. If you want something more dramatic but still very classic, Black is also a good option to go for - especially if you want a base for a super sparkly look, as it really gives the glitter a chance to shine as it should!
If you want something Metallic, but not Gold - there are other tones you can opt for! Copper or Rose Gold are great options as they're kinda close to Gold, but a little more bronzey and perhaps less 'in yer face'. I also really liked this metallic pink look I created here - it's not traditionally Christmas, but the glittery finish I think still gives it that festive feel.
