18 New Favourites Of 2018 So Far...

Once again, we're somehow here at the very start of July and as a result - I thought I'd continue a format that I've actually done many times before round these parts. You know how at the end of the year I like to do one big ramble about all my beauty favourites from the past twelve months? Well, think of that - but halfway through the year. Basically, today I'm going to talk you all through a selection of my top, new products I've discovered and have been loving in the first half of 2018. It was a little difficult, but I got there! Let's get started...

REVOLUTION X SOPH SECOND COLLECTION - I mean, this collection just had to make an appearance in here somewhere, didn't it? Ever since trying it out last month, both the eyeshadow palette and nude lipsticks have become firm favourites of mine. The palette is just as amazing quality-wise as the first, with possibly even better, brighter, bolder colours (if that was even possible) and the lipsticks have an awesome, super-creamy texture and shiny finish and are also both gorgeous nude shades that are really flattering my paler skin-tone too. What more could you want? ORIGINALLY FEATURED HERE.

REVOLUTION FAST BASE FOUNDATION STICK - Just another inclusion from Revolution comes in the form of a foundation stick. I never thought I would ever find a foundation in this format that I actually liked as usually, they seem to all have a very  heavy, slightly cakey with a matte finish - that I just ain't about - however, this one caught my eye as it appeared to still give that coverage, yet is far more dewy and feels more hydrating on the skin and you know what? It really does. This stuff is so quick and easy to quite literally swipe on your face, blend out with a brush or beauty sponge and call it a day and the finish just works so well for both my dry skin-type and general love for a good ol' glowy base too. It gets the job done - and it gets it done right too - in no time at all so particularly if I'm in a rush, this has fast become my go-to foundation! ORIGINALLY FEATURED HERE.

REVOLUTION CONCEAL AND DEFINE CONCEALER - Finally, base-wise, and also from Revolution (though, don't worry, there's certainly more coming from them in this post) we have what is possibly the most iconic addition - their Conceal and Define Concealer. Remember when this was released right at the very start of this year and everyone went utterly mad for it? You couldn't escape it and in the end, I just had to pick it up for myself to try out and, unless you can't already tell, I'm pretty pleased I did. This really brings the coverage, but also blends out like a dream, sits super-nicely on the skin and once set into place, doesn't crease, move, whatever - all. day. long. And, if that wasn't awesome enough, it's only £4 a bottle. Yay! ORIGINALLY FEATURED HERE.

L'OREAL BACK TO BRONZE MATTE BRONZING POWDER - I don't often find new bronzers that I love, but this one that came onto the market not too long ago definitely has become a new favourite of mine. This was part of L'Oreal's latest Summer Range and after seeing and hearing so many good things, I knew I wnated to pick it up to try out for myself. Once again, paler gals like Soph had raved about it, so I figured it may be a good match for my skin-tone - plus, the formula is completely shimmer-free, so sounds right up my street. And you know what? It. Is. Awesome. The colour is pretty spot-on both in terms of the depth and also the undertone - it's neither too dark, nor too warm and orange-y - and the formula doesn't apply too much colour, too quickly, whilst also allowing for a seamless blend too. Basically, this is now my go-to bronzer, I love it. ORIGINALLY FEATURED HERE.

L'OREAL CRUSHED FOIL METALLIC HIGHLIGHTER IN 'ROSE QUARTZ' - There was always gonna be some form of highlighter in here somewhere, wasn't there? I love getting my glow on and am always on the look-out for any newbies to add to my ever-growing stash - this one, again from L'Oreal, being one of my latest, and best additions. I don;t think it's actually available anymore as it was part of a Limited Edition Collection - boo! - but if you did manage to get your hands on it when it was out, you most likely already know how amazing it is. And, if not, I'm probably gonna tease you here by telling you all about it. This is such a gorgeous, gorgeous highlighter. With a warm, pinky undertone (as the name suggests) and formula that's sheen-y, without being packed full of chunky glitter, this gives such a lovely, smooth glow to the skin. ORIGINALLY FEATURED HERE.

COLLECTION LASH SURGE MASCARA - I haven't found a new, different mascara that I actually loved - or even just liked - in what feels like forever. However, I decided to pick up this new-ish offering from Collection after, once again, hearing so many people raving about how awesome it was and considering its pretty affordable - I had nothing to lose, right? And I really didn't - this is my current favourite mascara. The brush doesn't look like much to write home about, but this stuff just seems to work absolute wonders on my lashes. This does basically everything I want in a mascara - length, volume, a bit of thickness, but also some separation at the same time and a nice lifted, fluttery effect to boot. It lasts all day without smudging or flaking off and as I said, it's cheap as chips too. ORIGINALLY FEATURED HERE.

REVOLUTION X TAMMI 'TROPICAL PARADISE' PALETTE Now, moving onto possibly the best part - Eyeshadow Palettes! We all know how partial I am to a good eyeshadow palette or ten and so, I guess it's no major shock that I have a couple of give a well-deserved mention to in this post. Well, three if you count Soph's awesome second collaboration that I mentioned right at the very start. And, would you believe it, these last two are also by Revolution too. I really have fallen head over heels for this brand over these past six months or so and I can't see it changing anytime soon. But, back onto the second palette and of course, I just had to give a shout-out to another great collaboration - Tammi's 'Tropical Paradise' Palette. Just like The 'Extra Spice' by Soph, this is such amazing quality for just £10. Not only do you get an awesome, wide selection of colours to create endless amount of gorgeous looks, the quality of the shadows is just amazing too. Super-pigmented, easy to blend, lasts all day long - what more could you want? ORIGINALLY FEATURED HERE.

REVOLUTION LIFE ON THE DANCEFLOOR 'GUESTLIST' PALETTE - Another eyeshadow palette that I've fallen head over heels for this first half of 2018 - again, from Revolution - is one which came right at the very end of last year, as a little festive-type release (that I thought was Limited Edition, but actually seems to be a more permanent thing as they're still hanging around now - yay!) and I have been a fan of it ever since. As soon as I first saw this palette, I knew I wanted to get my hands on it. Packed full of warm tones - reds, oranges, pinks, browns, purples and so on - in a mix of shimmer and matte finishes - this is just a perfect palette for me. Don't get me wrong, I love wearing all types of colours on my eyes, but this kind of colour family is definitely up my street and the quality, as always with the palettes from Revolution, is pretty darn amazing. ORIGINALLY FEATURED HERE.

BARRY M GLITTER BOMB GLITTER EYESHADOW IN 'BLING BLING' - If there's one item of more higher-end' makeup that I'm always lusting after trying (and buying) - it's the Stila Magnificent Metals Glitter and Glow Liquid Eyeshadows (or whatever they're called). They just look so amazing and option for adding glitter to your look, without all the mess and fuss of loose glitter, but the price just isn't right for me and so I have been wanting a more affordable brand to come out with something like it for ages. So, when I saw Barry M were coming out with these, I hopped onto Superdrug and bought one to try out in the hope that maybe, just maybe, they could be a possible dupe and whilst, of course, I don't own the original and can fully compare the two, I feel like these definitely give a similar type of effect. It's basically like liquid glitter, meaning you can give your eyeshadow some extra 'pizzazz' just by swiping some of this on, leaving it to dry - and you're good to go. I'm particularly happy I went for this true, yellow-y gold first off as not only is it super-pretty, it's also very versatile across all different types of looks too. Although, I'm sure I'll be picking up a couple more of the colours very soon... ORIGINALLY FEATURED HERE.

REVOLUTION ROSE GOLD LIPSTICK IN 'CHAUFFEUR' - Lips-wise, first off - what a surprise - we have yet another product from Revolution. I know I rave on and on about how much I adore matte liquid lipsticks - and I really do - but, sometimes, you cannot go wrong with a good ol' traditional bullet lipstick, in a slightly more creamy finish - and this one fits that bill perfectly. I first heard about this shade from Soph (you know, the one who did the awesome palette and lipsticks mentioned above) and seeing as she shares a similar type of skin-tone to me, I figured it might be a good shout and it really, really is. This is basically the perfect 'My Lips But Better'-type nude colour for me - a gorgeous, pinky-mauve brown-ey nude that's neither too light, nor too dark - and the creamy, satin finish is super comfortable and easy to wear too when I want a break from my usual liquid lippies. ORIGINALLY FEATURED HERE.

MAYBELLINE SUPERSTAY MATTE INK UN-NUDE LIQUID LIPSTICK IN 'SEDUCTRESS' - However, when a good ol' liquid lip is what I fancy - this has definitely become a new favourite of mine. I already love these Maybelline Superstay Matte Inks, and I was super happy to have found this colour, from their recent 'Un-Nude' Collection. Pretty much every other colour I've owned of them before has been of the bolder, brighter variety, but I had always been after picking up a more neutral, nude option to complete the collection. However, the nudes of the original range never stood out to me as my type of colours. But, then came the 'Un-Nude' Range and I came across 'Seductress' - a pretty, pinky-mauve nude. Again, like 'Chauffeur', this is very much a 'My Lips But Better'-type hue and I love, love, LOVE it. ORIGINALLY FEATURED HERE.

RIMMEL STAY MATTE LIQUID LIP COLOURS IN 'BE MY BABY' AND 'STRAPLESS' - Last, but certainly by no means least, Lips-wise, we have a final liquid lipstick. And, yes, it is indeed another nude shade, but right now I just haven't discovered any brand new brighter, bolder lip colours. Honestly, I've been reaching for the same ones I've been using and loving for a while - but the nudes? I've clearly been all over finding new favourites in that department. And, here we have my last two from the first half of this year - I''m sure we'll have even more by the end! These are also new favourite shades from a range of liquid lippies I already adore and, like the Maybelline offering, I had never really picked up any true nudes, so I'm super happy to have these two finally in my stash. 'Be My Baby' is a super-pretty, peachy-brown; whilst 'Strapless' (from a recent addition of shades, I believe) is a more dusky-pink type of nude and both are awesome on my skin-tone. ORIGINALLY FEATURED HERE AND HERE.

ZOEVA 134 LUXE POWDER FUSION BRUSH - Moving away from Makeup (kinda), we have a new brush I found in the first half of 2018 that has quickly become a new staple in my stash. We all know by now that I am a highlighter addict and I'd been thinking of buying this brush for ages now as I'd heard so many rave reviews about how amazing it is for getting your glow on so in the end, around the start of this year, I finally caved and bought it and as you can probably tell, I have absolutely no regrets. It's basically like a giant, fluffy eyeshadow brush and it just applies powder highlighter like. a. dream. It's dense enough to pack on the pigment, whilst also being fluffy enough to disperse it nicely and the slightly tapered end means you can get a pretty precise application too. ORIGINALLY FEATURED HERE.

BARRY M UNDER THE SEA NAIL PAINTS IN 'PINKTAIL' AND 'JELLYFISH' - Nails-wise, I guess it's no big surprise that I've found not one, not two - but three - new nail colours from Barry M that I've really enjoyed wearing and first up, we have two from the same range that's I think is one of the newest collections from the brand. Full of metallic, sheen-y polishes, all with some kind of duo-chrome shift to them - I just had to pick up a couple of try out and both have since become new top picks of mine, especially for this current time of year. 'Pinktail' is a lovely mid-toned pink with a green-ey gold undertone; whilst 'Jellyfish' is a pretty pale lilac with a bright blue shift and both look so stunning on the nails. They do take perhaps an extra coat to build up to a fully opaque finish (as opposed to your usual two) but it's well worth the effort as they give such a pretty finish and as I said, look particularly nice for the Spring/Summer. ORIGINALLY FEATURED HERE AND HERE.

BARRY M MOLTEN METAL NAIL PAINT IN 'HOLOGRAPHIC ROCKET' - Another polish from Barry M that I discovered in the first half of this year and really enjoyed wearing is from their Molten Metals Range - of which I've bought a tonne of colours from and loved - and so I guess it's no big shock that yet this pretty recent new shade addition has fast become another favourite of mine. Barry M recently released an entire collection of their Molten Metals Nail Paints, all with some form of holographic twist and I picked up two to try out. I loved them both, but I think this one may just have to win as my favourite, favourite. A lovely, mid-toned purple with flecks silvers and blues running through it - it's a very gorgeous colour and one which looks so different, depending on how the light catches it and it looks especially great whenever that holographic hue shines through. ORIGINALLY FEATURED HERE.

OGX HYDRATE AND COLOUR REVIVING + LAVENDER LUMINESCENT PLATINUM SHAMPOO AND CONDITIONER - I have one Haircare favourite from this first half of the year and what a surprise - it's a new Shampoo and Conditioner duo that I've found from OGX. I'm sure you all know by now that OGX is by far my favourite brand when it comes to Shampoos and Conditioners - ever since trying out one range, I've since gone on to try out various others and I *think* this one may just be my favourite, favourite I've tried out yet. Having fully bleached blonde hair, I always try to steer my haircare towards the direction of both caring for the condition of it and also helping to maintain the colour too and this duo does that perfectly. Whilst not being a straight-up toning shampoo, it does indeed help to keep my colour bright, blonde and brass-free (in-between using my regular purple shampoo) and the conditioner does the same, whilst also making my hair feel and look super soft, shiny and just generally healthy. I think I may be using these two together for a long time to come... ORIGINALLY FEATURED HERE.

SOAP AND GLORY 'THE RUSHOWER' DRY SHAMPOO - As you probably know, usually I am exclusively a Colab type of gal when it comes to dry shampoo, however this one from Soap and Glory made its way into my stash not too long ago and I figured I might aswell give it a try to see how it compares. Long story short, I really rather like it so far. It basically works exactly like Colab - effective at oil absorption, whilst also being super-lightweight and white cast free at the same time - yet this one has that yummy, classic S&G scent we all know and love, which is a pretty good bonus, if you ask me. ORIGINALLY FEATURED HERE.

GARNIER NATURAL ROSE WATER TONER - Last, but certainly by no means least - a Skincare pick from the first half of 2018! I don;t tend to switch up my Skincare that regularly, but when my usual toner-type product of choice (Superdrug's Naturally Radiant Glycolic Cleansing Pads) ran out and I was unable to repurchase them straight away, I needed to pick something up to replace them for a while and this caught my eye. As I've aid, this is obviously not an exact replacement - it's more of a typical facial toner as opposed to an acid-based one - but I still really like it. It helps ensure every single scrap of makeup is gone and leaves my skin feeling really smooth, all without irritating it either. My skin can be very sensitive, so anything that works well for it is always gonna get the thumbs up from me and so, whilst I feel I'll be moving back to the Superdrug offering soon again, this has been a great stop-gap in the meantime and maybe I might even keep it in rotation every now and again... ORIGINALLY FEATURED HERE.
